I do not think korlat is the symp, the creature knows his masters, therefore they are the ones who would do the signaling, not it. As for serc being the creature, i seriously doubt a mass murdering Frankenstein monster would come up as innocent. It is basically a serial killer that is aligned to a particular faction.

I see, guess we must keep our eyes peeled for codes, and we should find our Necro's

After the frantic assaults that left poor Serc dead, everyone settles in, and things take a turn for the civilized. Some even start a deep conversation about the Iliad, although you quickly realize it was just an elaborate guise to talk about lesbians.

It's hard to tell in this room without windows, but it seems the night stretches unusually long. Just when you think it can't be any longer, the room is plunged in a sudden darkness.

You hear shouts, cries, some panic. Metallic noises, fleshy thumpings of bodies thrown against each other. Satanic incantations, and murmurings in long-forgotten tongues.

And then a yell.

One by one, the lights come back on, pale imitation of a lazy sunrise. Most seem to be still standing, although one figure remains down, mask and head caved in by a strong blow.

Slowly, you peel of the mask from the bloody mess. In the crowd around you, there is a collective intake of breath.

"Well, will you look at that..."

Emurlahn (Stalker) is dead. He was a Psychopath.

It is day 2, 36 hours left in the day

20 players still playing, 11 votes to lynch, 10 votes for night

20 have not voted: Ampelas, Anomandaris, D'riss, Fener, Galain, Galayn Lord, Hood's Path, Kaschan, Kessobahn, Korlat, Liosan, Meanas, Mockra, Omtose, Rashan, Ruse, Shadow, Silanah, Tennes, Thyrllan.

ahahahahahahahahahahaha! :) .. Emurlahn was evil, and I am thus god for spotting it. Now, that makes me utterly convinced there's a killer early on the Serc train.

I'd like to point out that I was emurlahn, before I switched.
Therefore, Im also awesome :smug:

As is anyone who voted emurlahn, if even momentarily.

I would assume we have a necromancer recruit out there given that there was only one night kill.

:)

Also, I thought we were getting 2 kills, creature and psycho.
And since it was a psycho that died, it must be a creature kill.
But then, what happened to psychos?

Edit: Or a vig, in which case, both creatures and psychos failed?

They could've hit a witch, are there healer's in this game? I guess I should read the role list better, or there could've been a recruitment. Which basically means we have to consider the possible players that would be a natural target for both the killers and the cult

Yea, I would have to say that we have to continue under the assumption that there was a successful recruitment last night.

Emurlahn dead as a killer, yay some good news.

Killers wouldn't kill another killer (Capt Obvious ahoy) so the Creature must have hit that one, AND he wasn't in the Necromancer chosen list.

Yet we now have a kill missing, as the killers should have dumped one somewhere. One possiblity is that the Necromancer recruited the killers' NK, or the witch just lost their BP. Neither of these options is really that great for innos really, and the recruitment is a lot more likely.

true, but if we get the necromancers their recruits will die, again. So i think we need to look at our necromancer suspects, the good thing about the serc train is it possibly has one killer and one necromancer on it. We know there were two players with double votes, so i doubt the killer or necromancer/creature would have that ability (though a symp might) so we are looking at ten with maybe two or three evil in it.

The fact that emurlahn wasnt on it is an added bonus. Also the fact that its likely the creature killed emurlahn shows the necromancer team isnt as organised as they could be, or emurlahn might have been recruited. Can the necromancers recruit a killer?

Seems unlikely, cause if he knew the other killer etc. Same problem as having symps recruitable.

A symp cannot be recruited, so i seriously doubt that a killer can.

Hmmmm.. a Psychopath dead on day 1 is a very good sign :)
My biggest concern right now is that the necromancers had a lucky guess on a recruitment of a Psychopath's kill.
Sucks to be going to bed now... see you all in several hours :)

my only thought was that there was a specific rule change announced for symps, but i dont remmeber a similar rule for the killers. Makes sense, but just checking.

So a killer died but that was all.. Wtf... Whats going on?
Maybe people are hiding and not putting in night actions purposefully
to screw with our minds and make people be really elaborate with their
thinking thus everyone will vote for everyone else and we will all die, eventually
slowly...

Also just asking but can necs kill as well as creatures or are necs only for
recruiting? I haven't played a game like this before.

Well, wrong guy. Sorry Lish :)

Seems I have to defend myself from a few accusations

1. Low poster
Some of have jobs, people. Mine can go from sitting around doing little to flat out in a matter of minutes, therefore I keep the spam minimum and try to post constructively. Rather than producing massive long posts involving hundreds of quotes I would rather list the salient points, a bit like this post. One example - my reply when Meanas asked why nothing was happening yesterday:

Quote

We've had nothing new to chew on for a while, so nothing to add atm.

2. Voting Omtose and then disappearing
Omtose was behaving strangely, apparently revealing as scum, posting left, right and centre for a few hours. A few of us decided to call his bluff since when he dissapeared and has been rarely seen since.

3. Voting Serc after agreeing with one of his earlier points
As I said when voting, Serc's posts when viewed independently didn't arouse suspicion, but when Liosan made his case I was swayed. It was still the best case anyone made on day 1 although now liosan bears some investigation.

Anyway on to the matter at hand which is hunting real scum, this post stuck out for me in my catch up:

View PostRuse, on Jan 21 2009, 10:24 AM, said:

There is also the chance that Thyr or one of the others that defended Serc thought that Serc was their creature.
I say this because Serc revealed that a creature "can send codes to his his master in his posts" which perhaps made the necros think that he was signaling them to look for codes in HIS posts?

When in fact all he was doing was revealing to the creature a possible way to communicate with his necro masters if he is able to ever catch their attention!

This, I believe, is a bloody good spot.
