Temper is an interesting character and we do see more of him. The others were just good fighters picked for being good fighters to be part of the Sword. Sure, they *might* happen to have interesting backstories, but so could any random veteran soldier we see (coincidentally, one of the captains from DG comes to mind who was rumoured to be the son of a member of the Sword).

As it turns out, Ferrule does have a somewhat interesting story, but that doesn't invalidate my argument
