The entire Chain of Dogs, which is in my opinion the best written story I've read in fantasy.

Moon's Spawn rising and Itkovian dying.

The floating island bit.

There's also plenty of little moments I remembered, for example the scene where Kamist Reloe (I think) looks back into the shadows while thinking of Kalam.
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

I love the fear and respect that people always seem to get whenever a bridgeburner is around - Korbolo Doms obviouse fear when L'oric is contacting his agent on Genebackis. He was like "This isn't good! We will have them all on us! Quick Ben! Whiskeyjack! Kalam!"
The same with the Marines on the ship that Kalam is on in DG - they find out who he is and immediately they are like "tell us what to do and we will do it"

;) unfortunately there aren't enough Andii to really make it even and interesting.

But could you imagine? Rake and Ruin leading the Andii, Scabandari leading the Edur, Osserc leading the Liosan, Dragons filling the sky *drool* ... maybe throw in Menandore, Sukuhl Enkadu, Sheltatha Lore, Envy and Spite, just to add a feminine touch

And then the winners take on the Jaghut and T'lan Imass in Round 2, with the K'Chain Chemalle and Forkrul Assail waiting in Round 3 :eek3:

OK someone stop me before I wet myself again ...

Yes then Brood comes along and utters the immortal words while bringing down his Hammer:-

Done it before, have you?
Do you realistically think Brood and Rake would ever fight? And could that hammer be quick enough to defeat Rakes soletaken pwnage?

Yes. But let's take this "outside" to the appropriate thread if people so wish. ;)

DG - the whole end of the Chain of Dogs, especially when the arrow was shot at Coltaine

I would definatly have to agree with this, the whole betrayal etc. left me cold. After (forgotten his name) shot the arrow at coltaine you could almost feel his pain, not coltaine the other guy.

In an unrelated matter Gear is a better HOS

Argh... the bit when Karsa comes back on his Jhag horse, and goes around killing everyone. A piece of literary genius!

Curiously its a very minor scene, that was pulling me apart, if you believe it.

Delum Thords fate, when the wargroup attacked the city (in itself a great scene).
Heavily wounded and feeling himself for a dog, he crawls to try to save his fallen pack-companion and gets killed by a peasant using a tool.

This really got me, and i had to break for a while.

Yeah, the first time I read that I was shiocked at the cold brutality of it, especially when Karsa kills the guy with the spade...

Buterflies and the final arrow for Coltain.
Itkovians death on par with the BBs dying
WJs death was extremely sad... and felt wrong in how it happened. With Ganoes blessing the final resting ground of the BB I kind of expected to see WJ in the future.... alas it is not to be so.

OOOHhhh. I had to scroll so as not to read any spoilers :). I haven't finished HOC or even read DG!

So far, my votes all come from MOI, and they are clustered closely together:

Itkovian's death - I too felt it to overshadow a lot of things that had previously happened, but to me, Itkovian was one of the strongest and most tragic characters I have ever come across. I shed a tear for his death and his burial. Couldn't help it.

Whiskeyjack's death - So pathetic in how it happened, yet absolutely stunning. I wanted to just put the book down but I couldn't. So much foreshadowing leading up to it as well, but still it seemed to take me by suprise. I feel a palpable loss with him gone. The effect his death had on Dujeck's spirit is also heart-breaking (not to mention Korlat).

I'm sure I could think of other's, but finals here at school loom and I'm stalling :p
