Who crucified the Dragon?

Just to clarify - the otataral dragon was nailed to the cross by the soletaken eleint and whichever else of the eleint were around at the time.
It was nothing to do with the Crippled God, or the other things that have been posted in spoiler tags. She is chained in a gateway as Pearl speculates (and I've long wondered if in fact she is sealing the gate to Starvald Demelain, but that's another topic). Anyway - here is the relevant part :-
‘More like six, maybe more. Those two sets’ – he pointed – ‘were the
last to leave. Big bastards. Well, that answers the question of who, or
what, was capable of subduing the Otataral Dragon. Other dragons, of
course. Even so, it could not have been easy.’
Immediately before them rose a pillar, shaped like an elongated
pyramid, withered and baked, with only the surface facing them
dressed smooth. Words in an unknown language had been carved on it.
‘Names!’ He spun to her. ‘The names! The ones who imprisoned the
Otataral Dragon! They’re all here!’

I always thought the Otataral Dragon was chained in the original gateway/rent that the Crippled God was forced through when he was pulled into Wu.

Well it seems that she may be sealing *something*. It could be the rent from the pulling down of the CG. There's been connections drawn to that before because she's in the IW, but the CG fell on Korel while the IW is the remains of Jacuruku. I guess we don't really know. I'm more interested to find out if the soletaken eleint tied up the otataral dragon because they needed her to seal something, or if they just wanted to crucify her and the sealing is a symtpom of that...

My thoughts are that it's a bit of both - the gate to SD needed to be sealed and they had an otataral dragon to get rid of.... and what better way to seal that gate than with an anti-magic dragon? But that is just my theory and no doubt will get trounced in the next book

I apologize if I missed it somewhere in this topic, so I'll ask anyway. I do remember this from the book, but could anybody tell me which chapter it was in? I'm having a bit of trouble finding it.
"Ignoring him, she stepped back out of the ellipse and began singing in the Woman's Language, which was, of course, unintelligible to Iskaral's ears. Just as the Man's Language-which Mongora called gibberish-was beyond her ability to understand. The reason for that, Iskaral Pust knew, was that the Man's Language was gibberish, designed specifically to confound women."

Thank you again for your assistance, I'm going to read it again now

From what I gather, and the interesting perspectives from others on this, is that it was indeed other dragons. Peral states quite clearly that if that dragon was free, it would wreak havok on the world and destroy all the magic in te world. I would assume that only other Elients could actually combat and crucify the Otaral Dragon. Other wise, I would agree that it was soletaken who performed the act of forever pinning the dragon in the Imperial Warren.
