Oh, I bet ICE knows. It's publishers who believe Americans are too idiotic to grasp the awesomely complex awesomeness of Malaz and buy the books who delay things, and stem the glorious flow of all things Malaz to our American friends across the Pacific. But I'm an Aussie so U.S. publishing dates don't affect me, thank God.

And it is worth it. Some people don't believe it holds it's own, but I believe it is a very good read. Best book I bought all year, not counting TtH of course. Then again, I didn't buy that lol.

*shrugs* Who knows? Buying your Malazan books from Canada or UK in the future might be a better deal, money-wise. The exchange rate helps you ( I think...out of touch with exchange rates lately), plus you're saving a fortune on the petrol (gas, is it?) you spent travelling to all those book stores. And a month and a half? Not so bad really. Gives you time to re-read the books and remind you of things you've forgotten, like Empire history or some stuff about the Crimson Guard.

Even though I am in the US and 1 hour away from Canada, I order all the Malazan books (SE and ICE) via the UK amazon. The books are always in stock, shipping takes a week, and the books are better quality- at least the artwork usually is.

Also after just checking both RotCG and NoK are available.

I don't get it, why do you order through canada when, like mentioned above, you could get it in a matter of weeks through a european outlet?

Or just ask a bookstore to get it for you. I actually save more money ordering fantasy books through the unibookstore that I do looking for bargains on the net.

Did not think it would be any faster but i now know better and will order from the amazon.uk site. As i posted above the book stores i went to did not have and could not get it in fact the last store i went to a (B&N in NC) said that it was showing him the book was out of print. Anyhoo my point of posting really to complain about the fact that these book for some reason aren't found in the US and I have seen from lurking here and the other site that you guys have the writers ear so i hope that the fact that US fans have to order for outside the US to read the books might make it up the chain. I will retreat back into my hole now

Aussie ftw. I got mine from a Borders shop-I was amazed they had some in bookstores!

I found RotCG completely by accident at a Cole's book store in nova scotia. I wasnt even aware it had been out yet, and it was all ready december when I saw it. I had been looking for TTH at the time though, so it worked out beautifully. I seem to have trouble finding the latest books in the Malazan series on the east coast of Canada, which sucks, so I'm going to start ordering from Amazon.uk too. I remember the first time I ordered through them I bought Nok and the first two Broach and Bauchelian novellas and I received them in less than a week, plus AmazonUK has SE"s stuff at least a month in advance of Canada, (I used to live in Winnipeg and they would stock SE"s stuff everywhere as fast as possible).

Haha me too. I was just strolling through the fantasy section, and 5 pristine copies of RotCG and NoK (each!) are sitting there, along with about 20 of SE's. I was completely surprised - I'd always struggled to find them. It took me 4 months to find RG after it was published here. Pretty cheap for books this size too. TtH was $35, and RotCG was only $30.

Aussie ftw.

This is what I don't get - yes I KNOW I can order the books through the UK and Canada, and I will do that when I have to, or when I really want the book immediately. What really bugs me here is that NO ONE seems to be able to answer the simple question of when ROTCG will be released in the US. How hard would it be for this information to be available somewhere? I don't really want to hand over big money for the shipping and the actual BIG LOSS I'll incur on the exchange rate (the dollar is weak right now, AND my credit card company will charge an exchange rate charge for the foreign purchase). All I want is accurate information so I can determine whether I want to pay this extra amount or not, but ICE and his publisher don't feel like sharing that info, I guess.

I finally went to amazon.com and bought the book as well. 96% positive it will be here within 10 days....

If you are 96% sure you would live would you do something? I mean it looks like a good percentage but....Well here is to me knowing what everyone else knows in two weeks.
