The Movie... And no I'm not kidding. This probably has disaster written all over it; especially given what happened the last time they made a Doctor Who movie in the US.
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. It is this statement: "Russell T. Davies and then Steven Moffat have done their own transformations, which were fantastic, but we have to put that aside and start from scratch." that scares me the most. Why does the US have to keep interfering with a brilliant British show?

Agreed. It is a boneheaded idea and is bound to fall on its face. The good news is that the BBC OWNS the property and would never let anything really bad happen to it. Still, is it wrong to be sad that they won't do a 10th Doctor David Tennant movie?
The good news is that MOST US versions of British properties fall flat (COUPLING, FAWLTY TOWERS, AB FAB, LIFE ON MARS ect.), so the odds that anything will happen of it are low.

Ah, we can calm down now.
A bunch of BBC reps responded to the tweets about the DW movie and have essentially debunked it as the same rumours that have been swirling for years, and that nothing will likely come of it.
thank the gods.
It's nice to know that the Beeb doesn't let anyone fuck with its property.

Christmas special THE DOCTOR, THE WIDOW & THE WARDROBE (I told you guys it was gonna be a Narnia/CS Lewis flavoured one!)
A cool trailer and a standalone Doctor ep without the Ponds or River. NICE!

Moffat spills a few nuggets about next Season of DW in a recent interview:
nothing in the next run is starting out as a two-parter. At this stage, everything is a single episode, and the only reason anything will become a two-parter is if we think it needs to be; not so much that the story is too long for 45 minutes, because nothing is too long for 45 minutes, but if it feels as though there are two distinct stages to the story.
This year, we used a lot of cliffhangers and mysteries to pull people through, but then I remember the moment, at the end of A Good Man Goes to War, when we put up the title Let’s Kill Hitler. That was so exciting. I’m thinking, ‘Can we do that every week?’ You can sod off with poetic understatement.
I was looking at the facts and stats and it’s not true that the two parters save us money. We’ve assumed it for years. They don’t save us money at all. Not a penny. So what’s the point in them?
I want to be able to say, every week, we’ve got a big standalone blockbuster, and then a trailer that makes it look like nothing compared to what’s going to happen next week! That’s the form for next year.
I want slutty titles and movie-poster plots. I want big pictures and straplines. The first episode I’m writing is called [Spoiler] of the [Spoilers]. And it’ll feel a bit like Die Hard, that first episode.

Here is another crackpot theory, this time speculating on the 50th Anniversary special(s) in 2013, including what Moffat recently said in a revealing interview about it.

Saw the Xmas special. Good to see the Doctor in action again, though even for the specials this one was kind of weak.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

Yeah, it had good moments (mostly the epilogue with the Ponds which was tear-inducing), but overall kind of lackluster as a Christmas special, especially compared to last year.
The report is that the ratings for this year's episode are the lowest of any Christmas Special since the show relaunched. SAd really, but I think that if Moffat effs up Series 7 (or doesn't make it better than Series 6 doldrums) then we'll be looking at his backside as he loses the showrunner position.

The going idea is that RTD's Time War proved a long held theory that Skaro survived the events of REMEMBRANCE OF THE DALEKS (Davros blowing up the nearby sun) and was somehow rebuilt, thus to be properly devastated again in the great Time War. The other notion being that the planet that was devastated orignally was a duplicate and the actual Skaro having been hidden. RTD touches on that with the idea behind moving planets in the Medusa Cascade, but the theory/rumor is that Skaro was never destroyed or devastated at all and this was one of the key reasons the Time War began.\
all speculation and possibly a canon-argument.
But yeah, I see where you are coming from good sir.
