So much for gratitude is either Kalam about the demon he freed from the well OR it's Trull about the deragoth that Onrack released.

Nah, that wasn't what I meant. Kalam sort of frees one in that old castle. The one that possessed the Enkaral that drank it's blood?

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

It's Onrack after he fights the two Deragoth in HoC.

Not Duiker, not Mael, not Rake. You should try and provide some situational context too, even if it is vague. In order to get it right I require the character who spoke, the circumstances and what novel. I'm unlikely to say you're right otherwise though I might say you're close...

Hmmm... Kruppe to Silverfox at the Second Gathering? Or Itkovian to Gruntle at the walls of Coral?
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....
