Just finished. Still kind of reeling and totally blown away. Anyway, I got a little confused with the Guardian who carried off Brys Beddict and the subsequent scene with Bugg. Can somebody clue me in? I feel like I totally missed something there.
Thanks!
Chris

What do you want to know?
The Guardian was, I believe, though I could be wrong, one of the Forgotten Sea Gods chosen by Mael to act as a guardian to the others. It's powers are elder-aspected, ie it bleeds and uses blood for power. When it killed Brys it carried him away because earlier he had proven himself as being worthy and honourable, and it didn't want him to die like that, by poison. Underwater he could become a Guardian, instead.
It knew he had died because he was the last mortal to remember the names of the Forgotten Gods.
Mael is Bugg. The Guardian was pissed at him because he hadn't visited the Forgotten Gods, hadn't replenished him, nor had he made any effort to protect them.

This helps. Thanks. I was really plowing through the last few hundred pages, and I must have zoned out during the Forgotten Gods parts. I thought the whole thing with Bugg was really cool. I have a theory (I have seen it elsewhere too) that Kruppe is the same kind of deal. I digress.
Thanks for the response.
Cheers,
Chris

As an add to this was all the names of the forgotten gods placed in Tehol's head?

Yes, without Tehol knowing.

excellent that gives me hope that he will be in another book. Love to see him and bugg meet Quick Ben or even better Kruppe. Jesus, the CG would stand no chance against them. Tehol would trick the CG into selling him his tent then Kruppe would talk him into thinking it would be a good idea if he retired and went to run a pub somewhere. The Chain and Cripple arms.
Sorry maybe i should have spoilered this. I apologise to everyone for ruining the ending.

Whoever reads in the MT forum should be aware of spoilers of MT. That's the official policy

I believe he was making a joke there, actually.
