I cannot access this site at all through normal means. By this, I mean that when I cue up this site here at home or at school, the browser displays a "Cannot connect to Malazanempire...." message. This has been going on for the last three weeks or so.

However, if I go through proxies, like I have been for the last couple weeks, I can get to a text-only version of this site. This is getting annoying and I want to find a more permanent fix. Being able to get here through proxies makes me think the problem's not me (I am not a technowizard by any means whatsoever, so take this with a grain of salt).

Can someone help me get my Malazan fix without going through proxies? I'd like to see avatars and funny pictures again.

Well, you are not banned in any way - so that takes down a few options.

IPB can kick certain types of IP, however. That could be a problem with your ISP or settings.

I'm not sure what else, but I'll keep looking into it!

Thanks a bunch for looking into it.

I'll keep dropping by and hopefully, we'll be able to pry something out of the electronic whirlwind.

Perhaps its a similar problem to what us South Africans have.
We also have to change our browser proxy settings in order to post here.

Change what to what? I am using Firefox, if that makes a difference.

@amphibian - I think you should talk with dktorode directly and find out what he did to resolve the issue.

I know other members had an issue and yet appear to have resolved it?
deleting cookies and cache helped me when I was having issues.

I just tried that once more - deleted cookies, cache and a bunch of other stuff. No dice. I cannot get to "malazanempire dot com", much less the forums, without resorting to a proxy site. Which means I view no images and have to deal with pop-ups, spam and other stuff. It's really affecting my enjoyment of this place.

Sorry, I don't mean to be a grump, but this is frustrating.

I will try asking dktorode what he did with his proxy settings.

I seem to be back!

Hope this holds up! And for anybody/mods who pushed buttons or stared hard at something, I thank you.

Nothing's been changed...

It is possible that it's an ISP thing, and they changed whatever was the problem, or it could be that whatever was preventing your access finally cleared out of your cache or whatever.

Other than that, nothing I did. :(

I think the site was, for some reason, blocking Time Warner's Central New York's IPs...

Seems to be fixed now though...

Could be your ISP was temporarily using a proxy for whatever reason.

You're central NY too? Okay, we should get completely faced at a bar somewhere soon.
