I also love the name. "Game of the Gods" sounds so inappropriate... But then the Russian name of The Prince of Nothing trilogy is something on the lines of The Armies of Darkness so...
You're a materialist, like all ignorant people. But your materialism doesn't make materialism true. Don't you know that? - Gene Wolfe

BEHOLD, exactly! - The german Cover for the 'five? darfs in their halls of stone" (second Half of HoC) is the worst yet... but the others are only slightly better. And the road goes ever on...
So I don't want to keep them back from you (first row: the two covers for HoC first and second half, second row: the two covers for MT first and second half):

I have to admit that I don't mind the title that much. Das Spiel der Götter refers to puppeteering gods and their games with mortals.
Das malazanische Buch der Gefallenen wouldn't sell that well, I guess haha.
That doesn't excuse five Santa Claus cosplayers on the cover, though.

All the WoT covers are rubbish....each and every one.
Actually most fantasy covers range from blindness inducing to not so eye bleeding terrible. Good covers are few and far between. Malazan actually has some of the more consistently good covers. Steve Stone ftw \m/

I like this set of covers, though. They're are simple yet effective.

The best thing about them is that they look all nice and color co-ordinated on your bookshelf (which is what I have) but other than that it's not 'really' cover art yeah...just in my purely subjective view

Good grief. Some of those covers are simply horrible. Heck, some of the titles would repel me just as well as the covers....

I don't quite see the issue with the US covers for GOTM and MoI. I mean, sure, when I first looked at them, I had a kind of "man, are they serious here?" kind of face, but they aren't anywhere near as bad as the rest of the covers in this thread. Am I missing something?

May you shelter in the palm of the Creator"s hand, and may the last embrace of the Mother welcome you home.

I'll take questionable scene choice with high-quality artistic execution (Tor's MBotF covers) than a great scene terribly executed (anything by Darrell K. Sweet, etc.)
"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"
