And I agree with reading CBK now, and then rereading it next year. It's such a streamlined narrative that it doesn't take long at all to read, plus it makes a lot more sense the second time through. I've read it twice now and I figure I'll give it a third run-through before I finally get to dive into Caine's Law.

Well, the book is split into two parts: the "Then" portion detailing the Adventure that made Caine a star, and the "Now" portion that takes place after BoT. "Then" wraps up completely, but "Now" remains unresolved, though it doesn't really end on a cliffhanger per se, more like a pause before the final act.
