Anyways, We can see that these curses are all...fading.
Draconis is out of the sword, K'rull has returned. And nightchill did die but not fully.
If you ask me, i would say that kallor's curse is also running out of gas.

The other curses have been fulfilled; even if those effects aren't permanent. They haven't faded.

Kallors curse is more of an ongoing process - it hasn't faded.

Question about TTH ending - Kallor is heading to Daru, as there is a throne there for the taking. This is mentioned as being the CG throne in the temple of chains - Kallor doesn't give a shit about the CG though, he just wants a realm.

Spinnock Durav fights Kallor to delay him, and stop him from getting into Daru because Rake is vulnerable, and is busy with the whole Hood business.

However... when this is done, the fight is over, and the sword is with Brood - why is Kallor sat in a tavern, no longer after the throne? Surely it's still there?
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

So you are saying that when kallor cursed them...he forgot to say "foreveaaar" at the end of his sentence?
This then allowed the cursed to return..even though the curses were fulfilled. I suppose you are right.

He was mourning Rake. He delayed pursuit of whatever throne he intended to make a play for.

'foreveaaar' lol. But yes, Elder Gods know how to curse good. Kallor didn't word his so well. We won't go into how just voicing a curse can result in an immortal, almost unstoppable being, that can't 'fall' - you'd think if they hated him that much they would have killed him on the spot, instead of letting him carry on causing more damage.

Makes you wonder if Kallor would have turned out to be such a miserable old douche without the curse. I mean, think about it. He has lived for millenia without any kind of ascendancy, letting him indulge in all kinds of mortal messes. Making him incapable of taking interest in anything. I am a genius.

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

ACCCTUALLY, he kind of seems to be way less of a douche after millenia of being bored than he was back when he was crazy-evil-tyrant-emperor-whatever of Jakuruku. Back then he was having people tortured and killing his wives and dessimating continents and eating babies and listening to death metal. Now he feels bad when he kills whiskeyjack or hurts Spinnock Durav. Undead dragons talk to him about fighting death long long ago and he cries.

I recall he mentioned Munug. Perhpas we will see a showdown, as "Seech" didn't seem to hate his job that much.

And yes, he does seem to have mellowed. Group therapy ftw!

I actually thought that he gave up on that whole throne thing here. After he's smacked Spinnock left and right and they talk about Spinnocks reasons he seems taken aback by those revelations. The whole reason he was held back there was for his own good after all. For once Kallor seems to actually accept the advice.

a little off topic, but I loved when Kallor was about to fight Spin and was basically like "oh come ON! why are you doing all this for Rake. You're SO much cooler than him!" I think it was the first time we didn't have an SE character saying "Rake is awesome. Rake is so awesome. Rake is the awesomest thing that has ever happened to the universe."

Rake is awesome.

I know this is more for the DoD expectations thread but I'm thinking we're going to see a character by the name of Lisheo in the next book.

We should petition it!
Hmmm, how about, life partner of the errant Lisheo? Or Mortal Sword of the Mistress of Weaving? :no

I've got a feeling Kallor will die at some point, perhaps sacrificing himself for someone. Just a hunch.

You think Kallor will sacrifice himself for someone? Well i suppose its possible but hes always such a selfish tit. Plus wasnt it mentioned at some point that the reason WJs leg broke was because hood kept distracting Mallet from healing it? Maybe im talkin bullshit but i swear it was mentioned in one of the books.

Just a crazy hunch, don't take it seriously, it just kinda seems like the thing that might happen, Kallor has been ruthless and is probably deep down filled with guilt, at least it seems that he's capable of that from what we've seen in TtoH.
tbh I just need 1 crazy theory up in the air just so there's a chance it happens and I'll look cool. (H) Like I said just a hunch.

I'll look into that second thing about hood, gimme a bit. :p

Hood did indeed indirectly cause the legbreak.

And about Kallor, as far as I remember he actually expresses regret having to end WJ to get to Silverfox.
