Ah, they're not all bad you know. Some times you lose a ton of cookies, some times you lose production but you can also get some really good rewards. I've received trillions of cookies from them in one go. I'd definitely say that they are worth the occasional loss.

EDIT: Just got one. My cookie production was multiplied by 666 for 6 seconds. Just earned me 15 trillion cookies.

I've purchased all(?) the Golden Cookie upgrades and now, when I catch the x666 for 6 seconds cookie it lasts for 13 seconds and I usually get around 50-60 trillion out of it.

Yes, you will loose trillions of cookies and lose production over time but for every 10 trillion you loose you'll get another 100 trillion back.

I would say by now that staying in the "Grandmapocalypse mode" and monitoring the screen for golden cookies is way more important than even levelling up you cookies per second.

Yeah, the kittens are definitely the best possible upgrade. The next ones are the Golden Cookie upgrades. The third are the grandma stuff, it starts out small but it steadily improves.

EDIT: I am anxiously waiting for the one time I get the full Cookie chain. So far I have only reached 6 trillion. 666 trillion would be ridiculous.
