Just because we get the weekend before you doesn't mean you can winge ;)

What's messing with my groove? The Harry Potter movie was incredibly disappointing. First Terminator, then Transformers, now Harry Potter. Can they do nothing right!?

@Salt Man, sorry to hear that mate. Hopefully things go smoothly for you and your wife. Brood's suggestion has a lot of merit... :p

Take one home then. Doesn't make sense that should ruin your day. ;)

I'm sick. Have to work late on a Friday. Have to work on Saturday. Might have to work Sunday. Mr PigDog is on a weekend away with loads of our old mates that I haven't seen in ages and I'm not invited on account of it being a stag do.

I AM IN A HUFF!

Me too. Sorry to hear that Mez, that sounds crappy.

My wisdom tooth still hurts, I'm on antibiotics, and I just failed my calculation test.

Bollocks.

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

I'm really pissed at myself - it was an easy test, really, I think my maths trouble is like a mental block or something. I misread the first few questions, which i thought were mixing mcg amounts with mgs.

They weren't though; I was so prepared for complicated stuff that I totally misread they easy ones. They didn't include any of the percentage stuff I could do in a blink, or the pump/IV stuff that I actually do in the job, and had revised like hell.

I needed 100% to pass, and I didn't get it. Stupid thing is, they want me to work there, they were all ready to give me the damn job, but then I blew the test. So they couldn't even interview me! ;)

They said they could arrange another one for next week sometime, which is good, but I feel like I'm just getting up to get punched down again - my brain will only do maths on it's own terms. Even when they were explaining which ones I got wrong and why, I had to nod and smile because I couldn't visualise what they were on about - I have to be doing it myself.

I need a new brain.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Sounds to me like you just need to work out a way to relax and keep calm in an exam. And practise to the point where you are absolutely sick of the sight of the questions.

And I wouldn't beat yourself up over it not sinking in during their explanation of what you did wrong. Not many people can think clearly when they just buggered up an exam!

Thanks.

At least I get another chance, anyway. I just better get it all right next time.

I'm sat here at 6pm on a Friday night waiting for ethanol to evaporate off some DNA and then I will have to wait while it all dissolves into water again and then I'll have to count it and then if I have enough, I have the luxury of setting up an experiment to run overnight and come into the lab on the weekend to see if it has worked and start the process again which means I will be sitting here at lunchtime tomorrow waiting for ethanol to evaporate again. I have been at this since April and it keeps going bloody wrong!! Maybe if I just drink the ethanol and tell them where to stick their stupid science.....

GRRRRRRRRRRR! Stupid AVG is saying my iTunes is infected w/ a Trojan. It's an obvious misdiagnosis.

I guess it's time to switch to winamp.

No, no, no, it's saying iTunes IS the trojan. AND IT IS RIGHT
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.
