I wish I'd have read Abyss' post immediately after Worrys.....
I was reupholstering a couch, so decent sized, but not industrial.
I work mostly construction, so I stay up to date on tetanus shots.

found out the Blu-ray/DVD-ROM in my PC died some time ago.
The reason i discovered this is because I needed to install the software for my parents' scanner (mine died and got chucked out a few months back), and I couldn't do it on my laptop, b/c it has a corrupted Windows Installer (it's also 7 years old and prone to have stupid failures, which is why I mostly use it just to do word processing for work at home)
but it looks like the SATA cable got messed up for the desktop. Meaning I'll have to take the whole PC apart and then have the drive checked out to see if it still works. Best case scenario, I just need a new cable, but it's possible there was some pin damage, too..

I suppose you can't download the software from the company website by providing the model number?

I'm not going to make any friends among those who also watched Eurovision 2017, but holy hell, I can't believe THAT won. I was praying that song would get exactly zero points for the entirety of the show. I hate it. I hate the performance. I'm not going to say one word about the performer or hell is going to descend on me. Unbelievable. Apperantly, 69 percent of votes from Germany alone went to that song. Wth.
Edit: On the up side, the Eurovision aftermath memes are rolling in and they're glorious..

That song sucks balls. Sounds like what they play over the falling-in-love montage in a straight to video rom-com.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

What annoys me most (or did, after all, it's all good fun) is how in his thank-you-speech thing he was like 'yeah, this was real music, and everything else was just fireworks'. Well, excuse me, mister, but nobody watches Eurovision for 'real' music.. People watch it for the gay fireworks.

Yeah, one who didn't even write his own song. I mean, many (and most of those who participate in these things) artists don't, but let's then not pretend to be better than the rest. That statement also was, imo, not appropriate to the occasion, because Eurovision is not a music competion. It's en event made to bring European countries (and Australia, nowadays) together, and music is the medium. It's a widely known fact that many countries don't send their best musicians (because most successful musicians wouldn't be caught dead on that show) and instead send novelty/comedic acts on purpose, or dig up some newcomer nobody's hear of ever before. He's making it sound like he thinks that just because the other entries were accompanied by flashy performances they couldn't possibly mean anything, but just to name a couple, Hungary's song was about racism against the Roma people, and Italy's was a complicated song about today's society with philosophical underpinnings, but it also had a hella catchy beat.. Portugal's was what? Ah, yes, about heartbreak after getting dumped. Very deep. More deserving of being called music. Right.
Anyway, he did win, so eh. A teenie heartbreak song came in second. I'll be watching next year anyway. I'm just not happy about the attitude and dislike the song a lot, personally.
And sorry about that, can't see if a video is not available elsewhere, but worry found the national final performance, I think.

Yes, for that alone he deserves a colossal STFU.
Now, I'm not a huge fan of (for instance) Lady Gaga, but I do admire her because she is a musician and a songwriter in addition to simply being a performer.

I'm gonna sound like a crank for this but they're trying to force Red Nose Day to become a thing in America now and it's just so painful to watch. I know there's a good cause attached but the whole thing doesn't translate, it's annoying, clowns are largely hated here, it's a lousy gimmick, and I don't see it gaining momentum or catching on.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Tell me about it. At least you don't have to push the stupid noses at people. My DM stopped in the store this morning and actually complained that he didn't hear anyone pushing them while he was there. The location I'm at is one of the top 5 in the state for these damn things. Yeah, I'll share the dislike with you, Worry.

69 percent of all votes from us? Really? WTF.
