You're falling apart, Maark! One thing after another.

Yowsa, that must've hurt! Hope it's a speedy recovery.

Found out I didn't get a scholarship I was going for today. It was always a long shot, but it was a bit disappointing as I thought I'd done a really good application (well, as good as you can with 500 words). Now faced with paying upfront post-grad fees. Hooray!

On a similar note, the builders constructing my house are assholes. Made a huge fuss about a small variation on the house we're building (simply changing the wiring on some downlights and adding a powerpoint), which took three bloody weeks to sort out. Got the invoice yesterday and found out they're charging us $700 to do it.

The thing that really gets my goat though is that they were awesome before the build, being very helpful and keeping in constant contact with us about any concerns. As soon as we signed the contract though the customer service went out the fucking window, and our project manager takes forever to respond to us (6 days being the record so far). It's just frustrating, because we're not that annoying customer that obsesses over every detail and arcs up over nothing, but they're treating us like we are, as if it's unreasonable to ask how the construction is progressing twice in a six-month period.

Sure wish we d get our 3rd bathroom back up in order. Ya know that feeling when ya gotta take a shit but gotta hold it instead till the pots open? Doing the hoppty hop now instead hoping it goes away till kids get done with baths.

This... is not good decision-making.

Grab a towel, go to your favorite bathroom, get the child in the tub wrapped up and out the door, do your business, light a match, put child back in tub. Pat on head and resume your day.

Also you're supposed to force your kids to wait their turns by using the bathroom one at a time.

Probably is. Just like smoking in bus stops is illegal.

Arseholes don't care about that though

It most definitely is, as a playground constitutes a public space.

I know that in Queensland it is illegal to smoke in a vehicle with a passenger ubder the age if 16. And while technically you're not allowed to smoke in parks, I've never seen or heard of someone being fined for it. It certainly doesn't stop them from doing it.

So, the sling is gone. Which is good.

But the new x-ray showed that the elbow's showing signs of ossification- that is, some of the soft tissue is trying to become bone, because reasons. And THAT is what preventing me from straightening my arm.

SO I got prescribed anti-inflammatories, and I gotta do physio to get the 30-odd degrees of my range of motion back.

The bright side is that it's technically healed (nevermind the ongoing bruising in the actual arm part), so i'm good to do pretty much anything with the arm w/o fear of really damaging it. (and the Dr's description of physio was "it'll feel like they're breaking your arm, but they aren't really")

The bad part is, I need physio to get it moving properly, and that'll be a challenge with the holidays coming up.

Today I tried just rotating the forearm, and that produced all kinds of unpleasant tightness and pain in diff. arm positions-which is good, because pain means progress (as is, it's just stiff, but no pain). Tomorrow I'll be doing that for much longer once I hit the pool to lower the actual force resistance.

SO, on the one side I'm happy that the problem's been identified. On the other, there's a an actual potentially serious problem, and WCS there might be surgery involved, which is smth I'd love dearly to avoid.

Well I've had a temporary filling put in that should last until the second week of January or so. Unfortunately it seems some of my remaining tooth also went with the filling.

My options now are: a) metal filling with a post nailed into my tooth to keep it there, £53

:apt: white filling, less invasive and should last longer but £150.

c) crown, £500.

Aw fuck.

Shit, Carrie Fisher has apparently just had a heart attack on a plane.

Really hope she got some decent help in time.. she's in hospital now. Her condition is 'not good'.

Goddamn you 2016, enough already.

Restricted diets and Christmas do not mix well. I love cookies and sweets and can't have any and it seriously makes me want to cry like a little kid, watching everyone stuff their stupid non-diabetic faces with delicious crap.

Can't you just focus on ruining it for everyone else by pointing out the calorie content of their favourite goodies and telling them they'll die?

Bloody baby has a cold and likes to shout about it in the small hours. I can't get back to sleep because I have "Do They Know It's Christmas" stuck in my head and THERE ARE PRESENTS DOWNSTAIRS!

You THINK there are presents downstairs.
What if they're all gone?

You should go check.
