So far this week, my 3month old has slept 8hours a night solid for 3 days straight.

...and now I'm wondering what she's planning.

Also, she Magi-pooped. She pooped and it barely touched her diaper, but skirted up and out of her diaper and outfit (while avoiding the latter in any significant way) and landed on my wife's pant leg (and subsequently the couch)...enough that my wife thought she was the one who had the accident and didn't realize.

My kid is sorcerer. And now I'm scared what she's planning next!

So... About a week and a half ago we found out my wife was pregnant! A few days later she had a miscarriage. It was early days and we are both doing quite well all things considered but it's still pretty horrible...

She has taken the week off work and is recovering and in a positive light it means we can get pregnant (we were beginning to think about going to a specialist as we'd been trying for a while) so we're focusing on the positives, plus our faith is giving us strength & comfort. Still sucks...

For those who know her can I request you don't contact her about it. Thanks. :(

Oh man, I'm sorry. That's awful.

My wife and I went through this last Thanksgiving. It's horrible, and traumatic, and nothing I will say is going to take that pain and upset away. You will learn that this happens WAY more than you ever imagine to way more women around the globe. I was astonished at just how often this happens.

You both have all my sympathy. If you need anything or just want to talk, you can always PM me.

Sorry Tiste.

Generally, any pregnancy before 12 weeks is on shaky grounds, which is why people are told not to announce before then. I don't know your situation, but it happens often and is, nevertheless, still devastating.

Wishing you the best,

Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Thanks all. Yes, we have now learnt it is pretty common in first pregnancies. Which actually helps a little bit to be fair. Still upsetting, obviously, but the knowledge that there isn't anything wrong with us and that it is just something that happens does make it a bit easier to bear. :(

Sorry to hear that. My wife miscarried when we were trying. It is a pretty terrible feeling. It helped me to keep in mind that miscarriages are super common, it's just that most of the time they happen before the pregnancy is even evident so people have no idea that it even happened. It's an important part of the process of getting healthy babies, something wasn't going quite right so nature took over and went for the do-over. Don't get discouraged, she'll get pregnant again.

Simeon, it's rough to have that joy turn into grief that quickly. I really admire that you have hope for the future and that you are focused on her well-being.

I wish you the best holidays you can have and that you both figure out what works for you to heal and live well.

Really sorry to hear that, Sim. I don't have any personal experience with miscarriage but I have been the support person for a friend threw three of hers so I have a good outsider's understanding of how horrible it is. My only advice, don't let anyone tell you or your wife how to deal with it. Or how you should or shouldn't feel. Or when you need to start 'getting over it' and/or 'trying again'. People mean well but everyone's experience is unique to them and there is no wrong way to handle this kind of situation. Just be there for each other and don't let other people's discomfort stop you from speaking about it if that's what you need to do. Sending prayers your way.

I just filled out a McDonald's complaint form. I think I am officially old now. 😢

To be fair, I did have to endure 45 minutes of my 3 year old screaming because I wouldn't let him eat the cold (seriously, not even warm but cold) hamburger. He is only allowed take away once a week so the meltdown was epic.

Test results came back negative for everything. Got one more for IBS. Great, right? Well, no. Because it means I have something wrong with me that I have a horrid feeling I'm going to be a long time waiting for a diagnosis on.
