CKII.

More specifically, my posessed daughter who killed 3 of my heirs (1 quick, 1 genius) before she even came of age. Now she's 16 and she is a genius impaler with an intrigue score of 32 who hates her elderly heirless father.

And she can't even fucking inherit. My dynasty is going to end with me, I just know it.

Well...at least now I can feel justified, despite our own government and societal leanings, to start using America as the pinnacle of all things racist and sexist again, Yay, Posted Image

You generally get the most liberal of us here; and, or the most open-minded. Rest of the country? Not so much.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

People I know are already at an airport looking to fly back to New Zealand because they don't feel safe being in the States for the post-election fallout (they're of Pakistani heritage).

There's actual fear amongst people because of this election. How fucked up is that?

The news.

I guess the below is both incredible irony, a masterclass in trolling and infuriating.

I moved to the UK when the Netherlands became toxic after the murder of Fortuyn and the rise of rightwing populism (though not for that reason). Now Brexit happened. There is no hiding. 'There' always looks bettef until it becomes 'here'.

Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Nah, but not because of Trump. He's already backpedalling on CNN. He will learn soon enough that he cannot get anything done on his own. He will get frustrated, then despondent, and after four years of watching his clownesque raging impotent antics people will vote dems because Trump didnt deliver on his promises. It is the way of the world. We survived Bush, we'll survive Trump.
