This is what happened when hard format music sales died. Go for it.... If you're lucky Chris Martin will hit you with a water bottle. :p

COLDPLAY presale for next years show in T.O.....I figured since I love them and it might be one of their last shows, I should aim to spend a little more for floor seats, right? How much could they possibly be? I figured on the high end $250/ticket yeah? WRONG. $622 each for floors. You can't even get below $150/ticket in any seat but the top/nosebleed section. Fuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!

The worst part of all of this is that even if you do fork out all that money, you have to listen to Coldplay!

A friend of mine saw them in NYC from the nosebleeds. They have this high tech synchronized bracelet deal that lights the entire audience up in time with the music. That's part of why the tickets are so expensive and she thought it was worth it. I averred and didn't go, but it's up to you, your wife, and how much you two want to see this band.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

Are those original prices or resale prices?

In any case, holy fuck. I can buy Coldplay for that much money.

Original Presale prices. I'm not yet sure if the presage prices will be higher than the Genral Admission prices that go on sale Saturday mooring.

Yep, I've actually seen them 3 times and the last show had the bracelets (called Xylobands, which are hella cool; I still have mine) and actually it turns out that the bracelets aren't part of the ticket cost (or weren't at the time). I looked it up after the fact, and Chris Martin talked about how the bracelets were a huge success, but snaked a significant chunk of the cash that Coldplay received per show. I think the success portion outweighed the cost loss. They maybe have also revised them since the original Xylobands to be cheaper to produce.

But yeah, those 3 concerts were the best ones I've been to in my whole life, so I'll pay...but I won't sit very close. I think my top-end is the mid-range $170 tickets.

Three tickets for Wacken are cheaper. This is crazy.

Thats insane prices for a concert if they aren't scalped tickets (I despise scalpers)
I got standing in the pit for AC/DC for like Ł50/60 last summer. I think I got same location for their Black Ice tour for Ł45/50 in 2010.

Speaking of tickets, I just heard on the radio Cubs world series tickets on resale sites like stub hub are going for 20k a pop.

I have to agree here. I've seen the lads 3 times too, some of the best gigs I've ever attended.
It's because I've seen them 3 times, that I wouldn't pay that. No way.

This might be why she fell over rather than clumsiness. My grandmother's blood pressure was cratering every now and then due to other types of medication and that had to be addressed - after the broken bones were set/operated on.

Best of luck to her and the operation.

Yeah you might be onto something. She wasn't eating much before. She has been very unsteady on her feet recently, which is why we got her the walker.

Being transferred back to my old department (which I hate) from one that I genuinely enjoy working for. If this goes south I'll be getting a new job pronto.

Have you/can you communicate this to whoever is making this decision (without screwing yourself over in the process, ofc)?

One of the earring holes in my left ear seems to have gotten infected, or s on its way to be. However that happened. It's annoying. It hurts. And I'm so busy the next week and a half there's no way I'll be able to go to a doc.

Bathe it at least twice a day with water that has been boiled and allowed to cool a bit and has a load of salt dissolved in it. We pay a fortune for antiseptic creams and liquids but good old salt will do.

Adding bookshelves is easier for me than parting with books. Had a fire back in the mid 80s. Lost 1000 paperbacks and close to that number in vinyl record albms. That was a black day.

BK my friend you can't put on an aura of "Imma redneck hur dur hur" and expect people to think you're constantly kidding. If it bothers you that people call you out on it perhaps consider engaging seriously in the DB? I for one would absolutely refrain from using the "that's racist and you're an idiot" fallacy if engaged in an actual argument. I'm pretty sure almost every regular on this board would act the same. And anyone who doesn't honestly doesn't belong in the DB.

It did seem a little harsh, since you've posted here for a long time and aren't exactly a stranger, but I do agree w/ Emp that it started because you responded to a video you didn't watch and only explained that after the fact. I think in the DB -- whether people are deadly serious or being more whimsical -- the assumption is that you're at least still engaged with the conversation you're responding to. I obviously don't personally mind bursts of more casual conversation within the larger discussion, but you still gotta make sure you're not drive-by posting in the DB either (I've done it before too back when I was jerkier).
They came with white hands and left with red hands.
