Got my confirmation test back, and it's diabetes for sure, and it's pretty bad. I can't believe this is my life now.
It keeps getting worse. Found out today that caffeine is bad for diabetics. That's the final fucking straw.

I'm with the 'too damn hot' crowd. The weather can kindly go do something not so pleasant with itself, as far as I'm concerned

Nice to see the Brits and the mainland agree on something again.

If you can, sleep on the floor. Put a sheet down, pillow up as needed, and sleep. It'll be cooler and more comfortable than the bad sofa.

Thank you, amph, she has been on the mend from this bout of illness the last couple of days, it won't be completely sorted until she has the kidney and pancreas transplant she needs, she is on the transplant list though, so it's just the wait now. I will certainly try to keep the positive energy up, got to try and be strong for Sarah, even if I'm internally zombifying! Tonight I'm sleeping in a different room on a much more comfortable sofa bed type deal, until yesterday it was being used as a sort of storage area lol
But damn does this heat just keep ramping up, it's worse tonight, I am literally melting in my bloody seat! Was like 34-35 Celsius in London today, I am not designed for this heat lol

I can handle the heat, but combined with the humidity. It's like working in a damn sauna.
Temps are supposed to top 100 this weekend! (Around 38 for you foreigners).

Yeah it's the humidity that is the real killer, it's like walking through bloody water

I'm trying to figure out what the problem is but I'm just not seeing it. We know Global Warming is a myth, so it's not that. Any of you climate scientists know how to read a map chart? Here's last month's data.

They came with white hands and left with red hands.

I do not do well with this heat, I love winter and snow and ice. I'm the weirdo who pays more money in utilities during the summer for AC than for heating my home in the winter here in Chicago. My one escape is my swimming pool, it's great. I have quite a few trees so it never heats up too bad from the sun thankfully. So I get home from a business trip and get in the pool...... the water is 91 degrees!!! Turns out my girlfriend and her friends wanted to hear up the water last week so the fired up the heater and used some chemical to keep the temperature up........

Hit a low. I've been doing reasonably well - had been joking about hitting the "rom-com" stage of the breakup in that I've started listening to Savage Garden and the like.... but couldn't sleep again with the heat last night and hit a pit of "Oh my god, what if nobody else wants me either?"
I am well aware it's 1) an overreaction and 2) a result of emotional stress added to poor sleep with the goddamn weather and 3) it'll pass and I'll come back up.
Bleurgh though. I'm guessing it'll be up and down for a wee bit yet.

I'd offer the obligatory fish in the sea, but it pisses me off so much when people say it to me.

It'seems totally understandable. Been feeling similar myself and it comes and goes. I agree the sleep will be a key factor in mood, but for me at least, this will be an open wound that will take some time to scare over. You can always PM if you want to talk.

Seems like a minor issue compared to what others have going on.
Trying to find a new house to live in (needing a 4 bed as my in-laws are moving up from down south and we will split costs (thank god I like them lol), finding a property isn't a problem, the problem is that every landlord/letting agent has a thing against pets and is making this whole thing a great big chore.
Pets are an integral part of a most modern families and you can go and blow a goat if you think I'll be ditching my 2 cats or if I'm going to pay you double the deposit, which puts it at 2 BLOODY GRAND (that's just a deposit, also need a further 1 thousand for a months rent up front), just so I can keep them in the house.
Had the cats for 2 years, you want to know the value of the damage done to my current property? £50 quid, that was because we put in a cat flap and will need to replace a door panel.
Please any landlords of Malaz, love thy Tenants and let them have pets.

There is such a device as a washer-drier. It takes up exactly the same space as a washing machine and because it condenses there is no need for vents etc it just goes down the machine waste. Put clothes in, come back later take them out and put them away. Why do more people not have these? It was probably the second appliance we got (after the fridge) when we got our house. Or if you really want to hang it up outside just don't select one of the drying options when it is sunny out.

The only time I've ever seen one of these was in our StayDublin apartment rental in Dublin. It worked like a charm, but I've never seen one anywhere else. It is weird that you don't see more of them to be honest.
