These big fuckers make shaking mandatory from start to finish when I piss outside. I don't even wanna imagine the fire on my pecker like I got on my hand!

I mean, I understand the imperative to piss outside. But is that something you have to do in such perilous conditions?

The assignment I talked about not having to write a couple of days ago is now in the "oh shit I have 2 hours to write another 1k words and edit and print" phase. I either get it finished tonight or I have to sit behind a computer and type instead of exercising tomorrow morning, which would suck because I love swimming.

I'm procrastinating despite the aforementioned condition. Is growing out of procrastination a thing?

Have the week off work and got a call from my boss to let me know she has quit and might not be there on Monday when I get back. This is a bit shit what with a year off for maternity leave coming up and I would go for her job if I wasn't pregnant. Plus it's a really dodgy time for my department and this is going to destabilise it further. All a bit crazy. Not to mention she's the first boss I have had who I genuinely like and enjoy working for. Balls!!

That's a bit shit indeed.

And don't you mean "Bollocks!!"?

Fortunately the boss is staying to the end of April. She told me she recommended me as her replacement and believes there are ways and means to have an interim solution while I have my year off for the baby. I have absolutely no stomach for a job application and interview process right now. It is a really senior post with elements I could do quite easily and others that would be a real stretch. Pre-pregnancy me is yelling at me to not be a wussy traitor to my sex. Tired fat pregnant me who has no idea what life will feel like in 12 months time just can't be bothered. You hear so much about how women get torn between family and career, I didn't think it would happen so soon.

I have one nutter colleague and one nice colleague who seem to be interested in applying for the job. I could work under the nice one and think she's a shoe in if I don't apply. I'm waiting to see what the interview process will look like before I make my final decision. I think anything more than "call me in for a quick chat then offer it to me with a juicy payrise" will just be too much effort but I hate myself for saying it.

Bollocks!

I think growing Into procrastination is a thing. As I didn't really procrastinate in undergrad - I finished stuff a week before the deadline, but it has steadily increased over the years

Yes and no.

No, in a sense that you don't "just" grow out of it. It generally bites you really bad in a "I really blew an opportunity of a lifetime"-type way, which gives you a priority adjustment for life.

Yes, in in sense that with experience you get better and better with managing your time, factoring for time you'll inevitably waste procrastinating, to the point where you'll mostly convince yourself that it's necessary "recovery time" or "breaks" and not just procrastination. Also, as you get older, your body gets progressively worse at handling all-nighters, so you end up adjusting for that too.

Neither does this.

My sister dearest just informed me via email that she has been using my limited power of attorney. Filed my taxes, did something with the broker, and "a couple of other things I'll talk to you about when I come down there on Sunday"

Does that meet the requirements for justifiable homicide?

I don't think you're allowed to do that, but I'm not a lawyer. You can amend a tax return at least.

Yes it does. Do it, then blame it on the place you're staying at.
