Nah, the article he's talking about is from a news website with a fake entertainment reporter (there's an article about Fight Club 2 as well). The Internet is dark and full of people who think they are The Onion but don't stack up, ie people who think telling a lie is the same as satire.

Except FIGHT CLUB 2 exists.

That's a comic book. I said he's a fake entertainment reporter, not a fake nerd hard news reporter.

I said good day!

Better. Much better. Now that th eofficial mourning period is over and everybody is returning to routine things are improving greatly. The major problem now is the bureaucratic mess like bank accounts and insurance and stuff

To you and me, it may sound erotic.

But I am magnanimous enough to realize the love-making noises of my cousins may disturb the rest of others. Sorry, Briar King. I keeps it quiet when I'm on the prowl out of consideration for others, my cousins have apparently failed to do similarly.

So, I've been having a WEIRD argument with a friend over the past three days.. One where he accuses me of not caring about anyone but myself, thinking I am above everyone, behaving like a 'raging youtube-teenie', arguing for arguing's sake and always wanting to have the last word.. All while he writes me overlong messages full of internet slang/memes, whole caps locked sentences, repetitive arguments (if one can call them arguments) and keeps saying that when the whole thing started HE had a headache, so I should damn well respect that.

..what?

I genuinely feel bad for having pushed some button that caused all that, but this is so blown out of proportion I am truly at a loss about what to do. I keep my answers short and to the point and get walls of text back accusing me of being unable to let someone else have the last word. Uhm.. Yes, I CAN be rather.. condescending when I put my heart to it, but that the friend who knows me longest out of all those people I currently call friends, and all I said was that I dislike the word 'femnazi' and that he should think before abusing his keyboard such. Then the rage started. And it just won't subside. And I have no idea why.

I want to say I'm sorry, but if my suspicion is right that I accidentally managed to hurt his pride, then tough luck, that's something I'm not going to apologise for. The whole thing is just so weird.

And on a minor note, I bought an ereader app on my tablet so I could read stuff AND take notes/mark things while I go along, only to find out that for some reason that does not work with pdfs, which is the format I need the feature in most, and there was no word about that in the app description... :)

Hmm. I would ask what's his opinion on Anita Sarkeesian but from his hilariously overblown reaction to your correct statement 'I don't like the bullshit dumb idiot shitty term feminazi' you clearly already know.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

This person is projecting their insecurities and tactics upon you much more than theyvare having a coherent conversation. Disengage, make sure those close to you get the general gist of things and I hope he goes away soon/doesn't get hurtful.

Try MoonReader app. There is a free version and a paid version. I used the free for a short time and liked it so much that I went to the paid one and love it. I'm not sure about changing up PDFs, but it will open them and let you make notes on documents/books.

She's the one who put forth some mild criticism on how female characters and women are treated in video games and gamer culture and got a near-infinite stream of death and rape threats in response, which I can paraphrase as "Gamers don't have any problem with females, and any bitches who disagree should totally be raped until they learn their place" which might even be a quote, it's been a while since I read any of them.

Oh. Small wonder I didn't pay attention then (re the first part), although the threats are obviously well out of order (and those making them need a nailboard dick-slap).

Look at your response: it is only the target of hypothetical violence that changed.

Not the best idea to meet everything with violence, even if the Gamergaters are often awful humans with massive entitlement complexes and a disregard of others.

The other half's "shiny new toy" syndrome.

He's recently got into the Influencer programme with Arenanet (Guild Wars 2) and is flooding the internet with how wonderful they are, and how sickening all the hate they were getting for the expansion release debacle yestersay was (and yet all the GamerGate stuff was greeted with "It's the internet, get over it.") and it's just getting rather annoying.

So, the entire support network that he had and still has for his depression never get a mention, but Arenanet give him (and others) a free bar at a convention in London and they're sodding heroes who've "treated me with nothing but kindness and compassion" and "remind me how much I love my Guild Wars family".

Sounds a bit whiny, probably is, but when it's flooding your newsfeed every damn day and it's completely out of character, and lacking in perspective for everyone else who has ever helped or done anything good..... Probably me being slightly unreasonable, but it isn't half wearing.

Tell him to get Anet to add a character slot to the base expansion, oh, and that Anet aren't perfect

If he complains at that, ask him where SAB is

Whilst generally I'd agree with what you're saying, life on the mean streets of Barnsley have taught me that people such as that (using threats of violence for coercion) understand nothing but main force. I suspect the only reason they've not given me direct grief is the fact that I'm rather large in stature.

I would wager by your description of them, they're also going to be fifteen or so. Bloody kids.

I think "big fuck off unit" is the term you were looking for.

My GF is away to a hen party all weekend. I'm going to really miss her.

Don't tell her that though....

Heck, rise of xenophobes and racists in Czech Republic is really staggering. With media supporting "beware, imigrant wave is coming and its going to hurt you and your families" sentiment its out of control. Bizzare thing is, some organizations are already declaring "when we are in power - and we will be - those who sympathise with muslims and imigrants will be judged as traitors of nation". Like, seriously...? Before, it was just few nuts on internet but now I can see people on street actually afraid of imigrants. Hell, we even dont have many immigrants here! Which is probably reason why is everybody so scared, because we are backwater state...

But, for the firt time in my life Im thinking about immigration (yeah, its paradox, isnt it?). Which isnt something easy, especially because I have dreamjob, my wife has job, maybe child coming... Im not some alarmist, but this is scary. Maybe it will pass in few months. Or maybe not and I will be looking for some job in UK...
