It's worth it to be no longer freezing your tits off.

Rather the cold desolation of winter than the interminable glow of spring. Ugh. It makes me sick just thinking about it.

Trust me, if you could not leave the house, breathe or - as a consequence - sleep and thus keep focused on anything for weeks you'd be praying for winter to be back in no time.

Summer is getting closer. I guess I am at an age where I cant do nothing and still be relatively fit. I see the beginning of stomach fat showing and I dont like it. Started up running again today after I stopped for the winter. My shins hurt like hell again.

I forgot Lovebugs on that list. Most people will have no clue what they are. Yall can Google them. They are fucking disgusting and we are plagued by them twice a year in April and then September. Disgusting things.

fire-ants? I can relate the mosquitoes and humidity, but fire ants?

Yep they stay underground for the most part in cold but once the insects come back out they travel in lines you can't see when doing yard work or walking dog and hundreds can climb on your shoe in seconds.

As for Lovebugs.... Picture an insect that is so acidic others won't eat them so they safely swarm in the millions. It literally can look like Black snow some days between the flying ones and the dead coating ground. In 03 I had piles 4 inches high for about 8 days each day I had to sweep off porch. They get in your house/car easy. They land on your back and get mashed into furniture and then you just have the acidy smell stuck in nose constantly. Luckily the things are completely harmless or we would literally have a RL horror movie here for 3weeks twice a year.

Nope I'm about 4 hrs west away 23 miles away from Texas border

Ooooo, I bet that's all KINDS of fun.

My work gave me 4 weeks notice to come off the weekend shift. I'm pretty gutted, but that's not the whole of it.

They dragged 4 of us in with allegations of "poor quality", and all 3 of the other lads were given warnings and told they had 4 weeks left on weekends.

Now that's exactly what would have happened to me, had the allegations been true.

In my case they weren't, I'm shit hot at my job, but some reason my face doesn't fit. Probably because I'm a geek pot head, who reads fantasy, listens to/plays bluegrass and other non mainstream factory cultural musical norms, and I don't engage in alpha male orientated bullshit banter about tits and foozball FFS!!

So anyway, in my meeting, without representation, I had it all thrown out. Within like 5 mins. Pretty much as soon as was allowed to speak. The "evidence" was soooo contrary.

When I came into work Friday night, I had 2 letters, one explained that no further action would be taken, and another saying that I had 4 weeks notice on the shift blah blah.

So the "investigation" was all just a load of shite, to get us off the shift.

They could have just said that there wasn't enough work to justify the shift anymore, they're well within their rights to do that, and there isn't enough work to do, truth be told.

But they want to keep certain people on the shift. Their favourites.

But why the underhandedness? Why do I get the exact same punishment as the other 3 accused, even though I didn't do anything wrong?

I'm raging inside. It's pissed me right off.

So instead of doing the what they'd expect of me, which would be lazing around doing fuck all, I'm doing the opposite.

I'm lashing all the fucking work in the cell off. So when they come in Monday, they'll have fuck all to do!! There really is that little work.

Bastards!!

Oh, and I'm applying for jobs too.

No way I'm going to get the stupid wages they were paying me elsewhere though.

I may also have to work more than 3 days a week too.

And that is one of many reasons I'm staying west coast, or at least a dry climate.

Apparently the only return for doing good work is having more work piled on you, punctuated by the occasional "You never do anything". Hmmm....

She's the bloody Grand Enchanter!

How does that even work? She was blighted at the time?!
