The recipe warns about taking the HOT pan out of the oven. So I take a dishcloth, wrap it around the handle, and put it down on the cooking plate. Mission accomplished. Fold the dishcloth, hang it away, grab a plate to turn the tart a tatin upside down on, grab the handle of the pan, lif.... AAAAAA SZZZZZL FUCKER IS HOT.

That, my dear friends, is why I hate baking.
The pie is magnificent, though. Apricot/caramel tarte a tatin. Yum.

Bills in general.

Considering looking for a mortgage rather than continuing to pay for an overpriced apartment.
uhm, that should be 'stuff.' My stiff is never nihilistic.

So apparently even though I have been basing our mortgage on my income alone for nearly 3 years with no issues, now I want to get a new house & have a slightly lower mortgage my pay isn't enough? HOW DO YOU FREAKING FIGURE THAT YOU STUPID MORONS???

People who call me from the car, have no documents at the ready, have their info wrong, answer every single fucking question with "I don't know..." or end it with "I think, I'll need to look that up", can't hear me over the noise of the engine or the wind, expect me to know everything about their stuff and as soon as you go to detail, go "ehm, i can't remember that, can you send it to me in an email?" and then proceed to ask a gazillion questions without listening to the answer, feeling entitled to whatever the fuck they imagine applies to them in the way of funding.

I think I'll ask the service desk to play the following announcement (paraphrased) when they connect customers to me.

So if you meet me,
have some courtesy,
have some sympathy, and some taste
use all your well-learned politesse
or you'll lay my time to waste

Banking crisis. Getting a mortgage is a pain nowadays and afaik, the amount you can get from a bank has declined by 15-40%.

Yeah but all we're doing is moving house. The amount owed and interest rate are fixed so there should have been, in theory, no issues whatsoever.

Friends are getting hammered lately, and not in the good way.
1. Friend #1 had a panic attack, went to Headspace, and they said she was too predisposed towards suicide, so she's going home for a few days.
2. Friend #2 is basically waiting hand on foot on a mutual acquaintance who flip-flops between being nice and treating her like crap, and she's getting a lot of the latter.
3. Friend #3 lives on res at uni and everyone there is being stand-offish and unfriendly, which isn't doing wonders for her self-esteem (which is already low).
4. Friend #4 is struggling to find a way to let down a girl who has got some major baggage (wihc includes not finishing high school, anxiety, shit relationship with parentals, alcoholism and occasional drug abuse) without causing a shitstorm, and it looks nigh impossible.

Bad things, good people, etc.

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

Getting my shipment early today would have been a great thing, except the packers put a shit ton of my boxes on the shelves of my drawing table, which they had put in the truck upside down.... and it's a table my dad made for me using joint+glue woodwork, and the open end of the butterfly joint faced UP, but because the table was upside down, all the weight cracked the wood along the grain and my shelves broke off.

I'm so pissed.
Currently re-reading the entire series and waiting for Fall of Light. You can catch me in the chat to win a drawing request!~MISANDRY FOR LIFE MUAHAHA~

Yesterday..
Puck's at work. Puck's on the phone, listening to the boss from my other job. Customer storms in. Puck signs 'I'll be there in a sec' and starts saying 'Excuse me, I have to put the phone down for a sec'. Customer storms out.

Today..
Boss: Hey, a customer complained about you. He wanted coffee but you were talking on the phone.
Puck: I'm really sorry, but he didn't even wait until I finished saying I got to put down the phone.
Boss: Ain't my problem, but just so you know..

*sigh* Got to love people, really..

Have everyone in Texas fired into the fucking sun.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Nah just some waves coming down from Texas. I'm in Southwest Louisiana. Andrea is mostly in Florida ATM. New Orleans maybe getting some outer tail bans of it though? I don't think there is any N.O. Members here now that Slow Ben went back up to Illinois.

Terez is down in Louisiana somewhere, iirc.

We are going to get some rainfall and thunderstorms as the storm moves up the coast, it is going to be a glorious Friday

Humidity. I can live with hot weather, but this air humidity is killing me

And also work. Until 9pm :) *prays for rain*

Not anywhere close to where I live, it's mostly down south and east and going northward along the big rivers, but I'm not close to any of those. I'd gladly accept a part of the rain that's been plaguing the people there. Actually, I hope Lizra is doing alright.

I am.
I thankfully live up the hill and don't need to cross the river, but some of the lower parts look really bad.
