For myself, it seems my old PC is gradually tumbling down into the "not worth repairing" category after being mishandled for 3 months by normal people :p A new one is in order.

A friend died on tuesday morning. Attending his funeral tomorrow. Seeing someone younger than you pass away is not a feeling I cherish.

Gaah, goddamn laptop.

Every time I turn it on, it logs me in with a temporary file, which for some reason takes ages to set up before I can restart it.

Randomly, I can get back into my account, but it doesn't seem to be consistent - even when I delete the temporary user files, it just sets up a new one the next time I log in.

Using Windows 7 - if anyone knows how to resolve this, PLEASE let me know before I hurl it out of the window.



Also I have a headache, and my 2 yr old has been running me ragged without a rest for the last 9 hours, with no signs of flagging yet...

If you have an installl or recovery CD now is the time to use it.

It sounds like you have a registry / system issue. And while you can TECHNICALLY fix anything, the real solution is a system reinstall. Back all your shit up, and get a fresh start.

If you don't have a reinstall CD, you can probably browbeat your vendor into giving you one (because there was a big court case in the last 5 years that mandates they have to give it to you).



Messing with my groove is my really universal malaise that's ruining my life right now. Nothing is fun. I have no motivation. I can't be bothered to do anything that does not immediately impact my life (like going to jail).
