The union on campus (for us it's United Auto Workers, strangely enough) has been nothing but trouble for me. As an undergraduate instructor, I'm not eligible for membership (which is fine by me) but they've rather successfully lobbied in the past 2 years for an arrangement that essentially gave me a 30% paycut, and the restriction that I may work for EITHER pay or for academic units (whereas the graduate students get both). That means that I work the same hours, for the same classes, for less money AND I have to take a full load of classes on top of it.

Im sat in the library (on this site obviously) getting zero work done when I know i need to do it tonight and just go over it tomorow. Im a third year now I should not be doing essays this late.

My mum just called me & our dog died. We've had him for 15 years now, and he has really been a part of the family. He was a crazy dog and loads of fun. Feel pretty upset now... :rolleyes:

Aw, man! That sucks. I do know what it feels like (well, not 15 years, but sufficient, really). You have my sympathy.

TBH a well tailored suit is quite comfortable, or so I expect by means of extrapolation. I wouldn't mind a suit if my position and earnings justified it.

EDIT also last night I was playing Bioshock and got really far - about an hour and a halfs worth of playing. Then the disk froze and wiped everything I had done up to that point... :)
