Kubica's accident in the rally. I hope he comes out OK. He's become something of a symbol that we as Poles can actually suceed. Plus he's a really nice guy, too. If he... no, he will be OK. He'll come out on top.

Oh crap. I forgot to check what else I was doing in half-term. I'm going up to Edinburgh on the 21st, so I can't go to the Erikson signing in Manchester. He has a signing in Edinburgh, but, predictably, the day after I come back.

This is a generalism and not a person-specific thing: To a guy, if you go in your room pissed off and angry, it's pretty much a statement that you want to be left alone for a while. Almost all guys will then proceed to leave you alone and then talk to you when you come out as if you've dealt with your shit.
It's kind of a difference between the sexes thing that I've noticed.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

yeah that didn't bother me so much as not apologising at all for locking me out, when I had done my housemate a favour and lent his brother my keys for the day.

I feel really uncomfortable if I'm in someone else's house and the host is either absent or angry, especially for longer than an hour (and really guilty if I'm one of the offending parties). At that point I'll start cleaning up the mess we've mostly likely made or something like that, because they've been nice enough to let me into their home, and doing so shouldn't come at the expense of a good time on their part. Also, leaving someone locked outside for ten minutes is a dick move no matter how you look at it I think.
As for the leaving alone, I think that's true, sad though it is. I'm not a girl, but even if I screamed 'GO AWAY!' when someone knocked on the door to see if I was okay, I think at the very least a little part of me would be gratified to know at least one person cared enough to do so, even if I didn't want to see them. At least they tried, right? I personally wouldn't go straight away (that's almost asking to be screamed at lol), I'd probably wait like five minutes or so, but I'd probably go and check regardless, unless perhaps her friends warned against it. Maybe that's just me though.

Well, since we are all complaining I may as well join in 
Our car broke down in Ipswich and needs a new alternator - nothing like spending 5 hours at night on the side of the road in good ol' Ippy - I didn't fear for my life at all :S The next day Mum's car engine blew so we have no cars to get people to work, school or uni and of course public transport doesn't run that early/late/in that area. Matador spent yesterday in Emergency and I couldn't get there because of said car/public transport issues. Other stuff which I can't be bothered mentioning because it is too bloody hot to whinge at the moment.
BUT! Thanks to bloody floods and cyclones Energex haven't fixed the power lines to our house properly so we keep having brown outs and now my bloody Zeke has the Ring of Death!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not acceptable!!!
