As it turns out, it's even worse than we thought. We have a stay of execution but for how long...? We're all kind of wondering why they didn't just get the Minister in charge of our Department to come round and kick us in the teeth individually. That would have meant that one person got some sort of enjoyment out of the day...
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. Faaaaark, that sucks mate. Uncertainty is worse than immediate bad news IMHO.

On the bright side, you could emigrate to Oz. No, hear me out - we have an ever-expanding Public Service (State as well as Federal) desperately in need of an injection of competence. Plus your Caribbean genetics (IIRC) will adapt readily to our weather. It's win-win! :)

Double posting.

And the fact that my parents are not going to pre-order TCG until Christmas and maybe even then they won't, I also won't be getting Stonewielder until June next year if I don't want to pay for it myself... (I have no money either. it sucks.)

Get a part-time job man, it makes everything better. Well, almost everything. Plus you can actually buy shit instead of asking your parents. If you're too young for that do some tutoring or something.

Anyway, everyone's getting their copy of Stonewielder and it doesn't come out until the 12th here. The dilemma here is do I shell out $35 on the day or get it for free on Christmas? Plus I can't sleep.

Oh yeah, douches at work. This one girl is driving me crazy, and not in a good way.

Yeah...it was pretty damn awesome in my mind. Even if I didn't like it, the several reviews I've seen praising it as a major step-up from ROTCG easily make it a definite read. Besides, it's Malazan, completionist side demands I have them all.

My friends are being studious bastards.

We've had our first exam today, that everyone's been stressing about for WEEKS
now, I won't say it was easy, but nothing unsurmountable, though challenging.

so, now, instead of going out and getting wasted, they all choose to stay at home and study. sigh.

Wait, they've decided to study AFTER an exam?

I'm pretty sure finishing exams = required drinking.

As for me, I lost my phone so I'm going to have to walk home (well, hopefully that's hyperbole).

Fucking cold today.

Not by Wisconsin or Scandanavian standards or anything, of course, but it was below zero (F.) after the sun came up for the first time this winter - though certainly it won't be the last.

At least it wasn't windy as hell like yesterday morning (gusts up into the 40s/mph around sunrise, the snow-heavy trees were swaying like long grass in a breeze, no idea why none came down).
I finally have an avatar ... and it's better than yours.

witht he next being in early f*&(ing December

@ KM: up here it's been snowing hard. which kept the temperature at a comfortable -7, but slowed traffic to a crawl. took me an hour get to home from downtown tonight. The buses were supposedly an hour bewhind schedule, and the automated "tell you what is the next stop" dealie was stuck on a single stop the whole trip.

My gf wants us to buy an appartment together - which means I have to sell my newly bought appartment at a huge loss if I down't want two mortgages. And why does she want us to move in together? Because she wants a baby. Apparantly her biological clock is ticking well loud. After only 6 months relationship I am just not ready for all this!

Oh and then she wants to go on a romantic new years eve holiday somewhere in Europe at a low budget. Like that is gonna happen.
