You have the same class on back-to-back days? That's no way to schedule. I always went for MW/MWF or TR classes...never that MTWRF bullshit. Maybe that's just how you guys do it over there.

It is nice to have some days off during the week...

I like to watch the train-wrecks. I'll admit it. But, after that and they get to the actual competition? Stupid.

My neck is still tight as hell. Hurts to swivelly-swivel.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

I'm afraid to go outside, but I'll have to in a couple hours. Local website says it's 2*F out right now. :)

I'm supposed to be having a drink with an old mate, first time in a while, and the motherf**ker has fallen asleep.

I'm a bit meh about Brood leaving. I like the guy and we've had lots of fun on this forum and over MSN, but he was such a drag when every other post he made was a put down. Moaning Tossbag.

It's messing with my groove that he announces that he's leaving the forum because he's dissatisfied with the forum but doesn't elaborate and then leaves.

He has elaborated to everyone who asked when he first broached the subject before Christmas. We all tried to persuade him otherwise then so he hung about for longer. If you missed it, it's because he wasn't nearly as dramatic about his dissatisfaction as he could have been. He had been here a long time and seen the many fluctuations in quality and activity and the recent forum environment just doesn't float his boat. So rather than stick around being pissy about it, he has taken a break. Which is fair enough, especially for someone who has put a lot of energy into the board and bringing members together. He was the driving force behind lots of forum initiatives so I think he had a right to complain if he didn't like the place. And the drama is fun for the rest of us. I wish he'd been even more melodramatic about it!!

Additionally, he's in his final year at uni, so less internet addiction opportunities have to be a good thing!

I'm bummed he left too but it happens. I left for about half a year once because I wasn't happy with the place. I hated Marduk so much.

I finally wandered back one day, found his presence lessened and started posting again.

But what is this "new forum environment" he means? The only thing I've noticed changing over the last 2-2½ years I've been a member is the crowd. One group of inngoers, booknerds and spammers comming and going. The faces change, new personalities emerge and new inside jokes and understandings develop. Yet I've never noticed the forum having a "golden age", in fact if anything we're doing better than ever with 10-20 more members and guests online each day.

Perhaps it's the fact that 3-4 years ago the forum was a much smaller selected group of fans, where we've now branched out in all kinds of ways with the offtopic forums.

I don't know. I don't think it matters really. The vibe just doesn't do it for him right now. Horses for courses, and all that.

:)The owner of our house is being a complete and utter bastard and I am drowning in rage/frustration (and that is the very toned down lanuage version)

He has outright lied to me in saying that a tradesman has left numerous notes trying to contact me, which is completely not true. And the tradesman has my phone number anyway, I know this, he has phoned me before. He has also threatened to throw all our stuff otu on the street if we get behind on rent ever. We wont, but this is still not a pleasant phoen conversation to have. :)

The only plus is if he were ever to do that we could have him arrested for breaking and entering and destruction of property, and possibly theft as well.

It really sucks as we like our current house (minus the couple of maintenance issues), it is in a good location, great size and in relatively good condition. Moving costs money, energy and time that we really don't want to spen, but we are going to because we don't want to be in this situation.
