Someone broke into our holiday house over New Years while we were counting down the decade, and stole all of our stuff. I am now missing my iPod, wallet and phone, with no money at the moment to replace any of them. So all in all, not the most auspicious start to 2010...

I went out with Mr and Mrs PigDog on Tuesday night and I still have a funking hangover now. We were on an outstanding Penderyn Whiskey and then hit the Bushmills and I'm now well into the Tertiary hangover, which is mainly anxiety and a sore shoulder from sleeping like I've been hit by a car.

Well that and the fact that I had two bottles of champagne last night.

I blame Mezla and Mrs Cougar, they egged us on as a test of our masculinity despite the fact that we had both insisted we were going to stick to Diet Cokes.

I was this close to getting laid on New Years Eve, yet somehow fucked it up. I'm starting to think I'm never getting sex again...

Also, this bird is a better dancer than me (you have to be logged in to facebook to see it).

Have to send in a complete first draft of a project plan before monday - and I'm stuck. Communication plans, risk assessment, even the fricking work breakdown structure is not coming along.

Just make it up. Seriouslies. I never read those when I made people write them for me, and damned near no one else I've come across does either.

I've been testing a theory about housework:

the only distress with dust is in getting used to the first layer.

But...this weekend I thought my cats had had kittens, then I realized the fur/dust balls were just huge and moving every time the hot air came on...

Bummer, I guess this means I have to vacuum.

Agreed.
Regardless of whether it's a risk assessment, management plan, business plan etc, nobody ever reads them. I spent many months doing this shit before I realised the error of my ways. If my area boss asks me to do this crap I delegate it down to one of my monkeys and tell them that it's " good for their development ." I then don't read it and stick it in a file somewhere.

Should anyone ever want to look at it for auditing purposes, I dig it up on the system, change the review date to next week and phone in sick when the council audit gestapo turn up. As my names not on it , I was only trying to develop my staff and my boss does'nt give a shit either way, I then have numerous avenues of escape to fall back on.

It does help if your boss is a pisshead who'd rather be in the pub, but these are basic management skills:D
Now all the friends that you knew in school they used to be so cool, now they just bore you.

After 2 weeks laying around the house soaking up the sun, and with the stupid
lottery failing to pick my numbers again, it's back to work tomorrow.
Rejoice. For very bad things are about to happen

If it's the left one (that's the one associated with heart trouble yes?) go to the Dr. Better safe than sorry (unless you have no insurance, like me, at which point it becomes better with money than broke and healthy).
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

I read this quote and its messing with my groove. No one (not even illegals) get turned down for not having insurance (even if its just because they have a runny nose). The only difference is, if you have a job that supplies or can pay for your own insurance, you dont have to pay as much, when you get a bill. But even then you can go a year or longer, without paying a cent, and then if you get sued and taken to court, you can set up 10 bucks a month payments.

Having money or not having money doesnt figure into the equation. I have had 2 kidney stones in a years time and owe lots of money that I am not able to pay. But I still got the care I needed.

Sorry for the rant, but its not that bad. People (not a shot at HD) just want free stuff. And so yeah, I guess that stuff messes with my groove.

Nope, not a doctor. Finished uni, that I did, but unless there's a bigger gap between Dutch/US/Norwegian edu titles, I bet I'm not a doctor :D.
And yeah, shitty administrative shenanigans apply. At the least in the old fashioned white male 55+ blue collar world I am finding myself in.

The main problem with the project plan is that this time around, it will be read - as it is for a course to get a certificate as project manager - if it was for the real world, I'd do most of that administrative stuff in a few meetings, put the outcome in written form, negotiate once or twice about a paragraph and, as always, the budget, get an autograph for a-okay, and move to the proper project.

It is indeed cold as hell here. Wind-chill is in the negatives.

Well, of course if you have a heart attack or agonizing, immobilizing pain you're going to go to the ER. But, it's not nice having to pay $150 to go in to an immediate health center and get prescribed an antibiotic.

Both of these are messing with my groove.
