I felt so bad. They were all over the place and letting out little "peeps" and I hope I didn't cause fatal damage.

If you do accidentally kill some frogs, do remember they can be delicious. The French are okay at cooking them, but my favorite frog dishes are Sichuan and Cantonese... so good. And they use so much more of the frog than the French tend to (and so much more deliciously...).

(Dogs might also like them---provided they don't then go devouring all the frogs....)

Have to do a why me post.

So one of my mom’s dogs is so n it’s last legs, poor little girl. My mom asked me to make the appointment for her. Obviously if there are s something we can do we will do it, but you can tell she has a hard time walking, and is walking into walls.

I've had frogs legs in Sichuan cooking. It's kind of like eating very small chicken wings. I didn't dislike them but my brain still decided it's not something I'd choose to do again. Mental note made for post-apocalyptic living though. My garden is full of little frogs.

I'm confused.

With all the speculation…. I’d just ask neighbor lady why she did that and ask her to stop…

But you first need to determine whether she NEEDS killing. This is important in southern law.

Just went with my mom to get her little yorkie euthanized. Feeling pretty overwhelmed. She was such a sweet little girl, but it’s been clear she’s been suffering for a while. I haven’t seen her for a while, but she’s gone completely blind. The vet was sweet and we got to take our time and hold her for the procedure.

Life doesn't suck.

Why do I struggle so much to accept this and actually want to do something with my life?

LB, that is such a sad thing to go through. Alleviating that suffering is a kindness despite the grief, and it's always good for loved ones to be there for each other through it.

Mentalist, you already do a lot of 'somethings' with your life, in terms of getting out there and living it! I'm sure your various teammates throughout the years have really appreciated your camaraderie, and that's just one example. In terms of life and the future, you just gotta find a balance -- help yourself a portion, help your loved ones a portion, help people outside your circle a portion, and otherwise do things that make you happy/satisfied. Maybe find some appreciation for the balance you're already striking too, even if it's not where you wanna settle. I know all of that is easier said than done (especially if there's anxiety, depression, or other additional concerns), and without discounting healthy goals, ambitions, and pressures (not to mention traumas), I hope you are able to identify that some pressures -- maybe a lot of them -- are ultimately illusory.

They came with white hands and left with red hands.

One thing I often struggle with is that modern life is such an artificial construct. So many of things we worry about are utterly absurd but there is no obvious way to get off the ride. I mean off grid living or buying my own island has it's appeal but there are downsides and also it's materially out of reach.

I try to strike a balance - take from it what I need to keep me and mine ok, give to it what seems sensible within various personal boundaries, but to hell with the rest. We are here for a good time, not a long time.

I know the feeling. Back in late June when my mom called me that surgery wasn't an option anymore for their Boxer lady Ziva and that it was for the best to put her to sleep my wife and I took the day of the procedure of to be with my parents to say goodbye. My mom was afraid that only one of them was allowed to be there, but the vet allowed all four of us the be there in the practice. The vet had treated Ziva most of her life until she changed specialties in the practice and we spend time reminiscing and hugging and cuddling with Ziva until it was time.

My parents keep updating me on their dog with kidney problems, and it sounds a lot like when my dog died of kidney problems. I don’t have the heart to tell them this is probably endgame.
