:p that same night TFC lost the CONCACAF Champions League final. In a penalty shootout. Sigh.

The Jays lost as well that night...

But at least the Raptors won

Dang, went to go see Avengers and the next two hours of showings were sold out. I picked up some In N Out as a consolation prize though.

Classy move. Nice to see there's a progressive, tech-savvy dickhead man out there who obviously realised "Me too" is just a passing phase and when you hit 'delete' the text is removed from all media, ever.

I hope she kept that message.

One week after buying a house, that's a right nasty kick in the unmentionables. Is there some sort of arrangement people can have with banks in your state in these situations?

Goddamnit. Had some news that has knocked me for six. I should be in bits but I think I'm in denial. I want to stay that way please. How do you keep denial going?

Make fun of everything and everyone constantly such that you build a wall of humor between yourself and your feelings, even if it means that while people tend to "like" you, nobody really loves you, because you don't let anybody get that close, and the absence of true intimacy that ostensibly protected you from the worst pains in life eventually leaves you a hollow, lonely shell in the end. OR SO I'VE HEARD!

Hadn’t played magic in ages .. so I realize not legal but used to played a bunch of decks with just dual lands... if that sinks in for ya

Someone pointed out dual lands I guess blew up in value, I honestly hadn’t thought about this is ages. Value of stuff as a kid.

Runs to moms, have random crap stored at moms, realized mom tossed those all out. Granted I’m a grown man so probably shouldn’t have stored stuff there.

Well I found one deck with 20 badlands at least, but the majority of all them were all sadly gone. I don’t even want to think about how much value was in that box. ( I sold moxes and those level cards to pay or shit during college, but I kept all my dual lands)

Well on me , but shit.

I think on eBay they go for around $20 per dual land, depending on the edition. But you see them go as high as $50 depending on how much people want them.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Oh gosh, denial has sadly worn off. I've been estranged from my dad for about 10 years due to him being a total prick. This week we found out he has been living on the streets. We assumed it was a recent thing but today we found out it's been 4 years! He's totally nuts but not nuts enough to be sectioned so he's choosing to stay homeless despite social and homeless services being involved since the start.

A whole lotta shit to be sorted out.

Fingers crossed that you'll be able to sort it all out. It's hard to ignore when it's a parent, even though, as an adult, he somehow managed to get into that situation. My dad's a full-blown alcoholic who despite owning an apartment spends most of his time on the streets, slowly drinking himself to death and shouting at pedestrians. Pretty sure he's forgotten by now that he's got children. It was tough to accept (especially when, like my brother, you live close enough to occasionally see the disaster in full colour on the street), but there comes a point where there's no helping it anymore because the person you're trying to help doesn't want it. Don't let yourself be guilted into something you definitely don't want to do.

Puck it's such a relief to have someone say it like it is. I haven't met anyone who knows how it feels before!

Yah that sounds so rough. QT's right of course. And I guess, in line with Puck, I'd just say sadness and concern are one thing, but responsibility is another. If he's as stubborn and abrasive as you say, and he's been there four yours already, and he doesn't want things to change, then I don't know there's much you can do about that. And it's not your burden to bear, or anyone else's in your family, to fix his life. So Puck is right on the money (assuming by things to sort out you mean psychologically/emotionally, for yourself).

Yeah the array of things to sort out is ranging from full on rescue mission to doing nothing and dealing with the psychological fallout. My sister and I are fact finding for now but I can feel us getting sucked in already. We've been here before but that time it was "he's about to be homeless" and we rescued him. You get torn between what feels like basic decency vs protecting yourself from total and utter crazy.

This is what I thought too! Go look up the prices. I guess they rocketed up recently.

I know how you feel man, I had to get up at like 10 this morning and have a beer then cycle round the city a bit, haggle ferociously for a fake brand t shirt. Have a beer watching the world go by at the bund, then cycled back through the city to my hostel. Now having a beer and thinking about going out tonight.

Oh wait, wrong thread
