Well, comparing two very different things doesn't necessarily have to be all bad.

I mean, I could compare Worry to Hitler and Worry would come out well ahead. Mostly.

:(

I'm not sure, all i know is they are both "attacking the kingdom of heaven".

Hrm. Is this a sanctioned state of war, or more of a coalition of the willing thing?

Update on the mouse: I gave her a name, and now she is dead. Puck: 1, Hannelore: 0.

I also now have a working theory as to why she's been avoiding the traps that would've kept her alive, which is kinda sad, so I'm posting it here. Wish I could've caught her alive then let her go in the forest or something, but it just wouldn't work. Anyway, basically, upon close-ish inspection, she seems to be missing half her tail and since it's not to be found anywhere, I conclude that she's been caught in that kind of trap before. Some of the builds of this style of trap can cut off a mouse's tail.

Anyway, R.I.P Hannelore. Hope you didn't bring any siblings along.

The heat. I wake up with a headache everyday.

Also work pressure. I always have 3 different things to do.

Also family. They expect me to do 3 more things.

At this point the only one not making my life worse is my SO. But she thinks I am under too much pressure and is worried.

Yeah, it's like their God didn't actually create all people, or know well beforehand what they were going to do? And is crazy insecure.

You know, if you think about it, it could be said that bible-thumping fundamentalist Grandpas et al have a closer resemblance to Daesh than most other groups do.

There goes my theory about the mouse being either a criminal genius or possessed by the spirit of one.

Henceforth your new member title is "Mausjäger" or "Maustöter" :(

Triple-post!

Went to an open house just to have a sticky beak and unfortunately we quite liked it.

Pity I could never afford it. :(

Just shows you the insanity of housing prices in this country when a regional centre hit hard by the mining downturn with corresponding drop in demand and rise in supply still has asking prices like this. Which - relatively speaking - isn't too bad.

Y'see, if that wasn't in the middle of nowhere, that price would be ridiculously low for that first house (based on photos and the aerial view). :( Of course, the fact that a mere couple of decades ago my parents could buy something as large/larger and in the location they did for half the price proves that even then, it's more expensive than it should be. Blegh.

What's more, those 2 places are only 850m apart.

We REALLY need to gut negative gearing etc in this country. Or at least cancel the benefits if you own more than, say, 3 properties. Plus charge owners LOTS for having vacant properties. Make it cheaper for them to have tenants instead of just buying a place off the plan and sitting on it for years speculating (foreign investors especially). Basically increase supply, which would bring down prices enough so people in my situation (single income family) might be able to afford a home to live in. You know, like we used to be able to.

But that genie will never be rebottled because too many industries rely on the housing bubble in this country. Too many people who get rich on it and donate to the political parties. Including our own politicians - apparently a few of them have more than 10 investment properties!

Trouble is, when people just want to buy a house to live in, every time they get outbid by bastards who have multiple properties and as such have greater equity and can afford to offer more for the property. Which drives prices further up, and so the cycle continues.

Shit, now I'm even more depressed. And tomorrow is Monday. Double shit.

:(

Back from an all too long Father's Day at work. Whoever decided not to fit air conditioning in the a+e department should be forced to work in it.

Thankfully I was able to escape back up to main theatre after a while, which was considerably cooler. Felt sorry for the poor buggers stuck there though.

Hot at home too tonight. British houses are primarily designed to keep out rain while being heated from within. They don't know how to cope with warm weather.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Apparent (via witnesses, but unconfirmed so far by authorities) xenophobic terrorist attack against Muslim worshipers getting out of mosque service in Finsbury Park, London. Multiple casualties, no reported deaths, one suspect arrested.

I have blisters on my feet from hot patios on two separate occasions this weekend....

My mom took pity on me and bought me a pair of flipflops.

Apologies for the double post, family friends outside of Finsbury confirmed it earlier today.

Woke up Sunday morning with labyrinthitis. So spent the entire day in bed holding onto the mattress for dear life because my centre of gravity kept shifting and it felt like I was going to simultaneously fall through my bed abd the roof.

Today I can sit up and very carefully walk short distances - imagine a drunk bobblehead walking.

It's completely debilitating and because it affects my vision as well I have had non-stop motion sickness.

I'm really down about it because mybdad visited today and I was too sick to really catch up with him. It's the first time we've seen each other in person in over a year. Ripley had a great time playing with him and showing him ALL of his prized possessions (basically every single thing he owns) so that was good. And Matador was home so they caught up too. But still, it sucks.
