No, the real challenge is changing your play style so you don't get hurt this badly and often.

I literally fight people for a hobby and I get hurt less than you do. Let that sink in.

Yes, that's the next step, AFTER I deal with the consequences of this particular incident. I'm beginning to appreciate self-restraint.

Also, this is the first year (if we start counting last December) when I've really had significant injuries since like 2009. I'm still coming to grips with that on some level, I suppose.

@ Ando: my friends prefer the nickname "terminator" .

@ QT: forget that. Let's just assume wolverine's healing factor, :(

Ment, you do know Optimus Prime is fictional, right?

FTFY.

And I stand by my long ago statement that the Universe is trying to tell you something, Ment. :(

This is how cutting government inspection agency funds and mandates to the bone kills people: http://www.independe...t-a7789951.html

No single person can deal with something like cladding on the outside of their apartment building being a fire hazard. This is horrible and I hope the attempts to pin this on the policy makers who caused this actually stick. And I also hope that this doesn't happen in other places because politicians are too dumb or cheap to pay attention.

Y'know, i'm not allergic to hairspray, and i'm not generally a violent person, but this would have fallen into the narrow category of times when i would have reached out and physically knocked the bottle away.
Because fuck that, you don't spray chemicals in other peoples faces.

^^This. I agree. Either I would have knocked it away, or I'd have brought the house down yelling at the person for being so disrespectful in a public space.

My sister used to spray her hairspray all over the place in the tiny bathroom we shared, while I would be trying to put contacts in my eyes. Poorly timed morning routine. This was the 80s, people!!!

And the Sun and the Daily Mail have now found some poor bloke (black of course) who they have decided it is his fault for having a dodgy fridge or something. They have splashed his name and photo over their websites. I seriously hate those rags.

That dude clearly spent years acquiring the means to buy the cladding production facilities, the shit architects and builders who made the plan and reality, the politicians who shut down the fire brigades and ignored residential complaints, and carefully ensured that he would make no money off the whole process personally.

Yep. Mhmm.

The Times says the "fire resistant" panels cost Ł24. The flammable Ł22. Making the building non-flammable would have cost Ł5K more. Stunned.

We've got a mouse in our place. One single freaking mouse. Soon I'm going to start demanding that b*tch pay rent, 'cause she's living quite well off us. Warm 'n stuff.

Anyway, as soon as we noticed, I bought two mouse traps that are supposed to catch her alive. She's been expertly avoiding those no mattter what kind of bait I put inside, all the while scratching around behind the fridge. I swear, I'm going to catch that b*tch with my own hands and put her out of her misery if anything happens to the fridge. Anyway, after five days of that nonsense, I bought four (!) of your garden variety 'kill dat b*tch'-mouse traps. She's managed to squirrel away almost all of the bait I put in them without triggering the traps.

Is it even a mouse? OH YES! I've caught that b*tch sitting in the middle of a room with the big light turned on. Just looking back at me. Twice. She then turned and almost waltzed away.

I'm reaaally short on patience now, because I'm a light sleeper. I hear almost everything that happens in our apartment at night unless I'm in deep sleep mode. But I keep telling myself to stay in bed in case I scare that b*tch away just when she's about to finally get caught.

Anyway, gonna glue down that bait or something, make her to actually have to step on those already easy to trigger traps. Or build a log & water trap or something. Ugh. Mother dearest, while concerned and wanting to get rid of the mouse, has yet to bend one finger towards that goal.

Advice is welcome.

Have you tried painting one hand to look like a sexy mouse and "walking" it back and forth in front of the mouse hole, while hiding an oversized wooden mallet behind your back with the other hand?

No, but maybe I will, as soon as I've found a way to displace fridge and find her little hideyhole. Got to make this fun somehow!

Use mother dear as bait?

The beauty of this plan is even if it doesn't work with The Mouseketeer it solves at least one of your problems.

Well, my bible thumping grandpa caused a shitshow in my little town this week by writing a letter to the editor in our paper comparing the LGBT community to ISIS.

Yep, you read that right.

Well, comparing two very different things doesn't necessarily have to be all bad.

I mean, I could compare Worry to Hitler and Worry would come out well ahead.

Mostly.

:(

@Worry
It's definitely the more economical option.
