We realize that we should relish not doing anything because soon we will be very busy and sleepless being parents...but I think it's the anxiety and anticipation that is killing us (more her than me mind you, but still me as well).

Screw that. Everyone says that when you are overdue and it's infuriating. You've been mentally preparing yourself for months and then it doesn't happen early or on time and you're left hanging. I laughed it off the first week but the second was a killer. Still this time will be a teeny weeny blip on the distant horizon in a week or two.

That seems to be the notion we've been given by a few others as well. Thanks!

Saw an article the other day about this - basically a nurse/doctor who was upset at the continued use of months to measure pregnancy duration, and the belief that the "due date" is anything other than a best guess approximation for when the full term would be reached. Sets expectations that are unlikely to be met and results in a lot of miscommunication and frustration.

Anyway, good luck QT, hope it goes great!

Thanks man!

Apparently, they won't let any women go past 41 weeks (and the due date is usually at 40) and will induce, so that's on the horizon if it doesn't happen over the next few days.

Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Baby is officially overdue today. Wife is miserable. The combination of knowing the pain/labour is coming, but not knowing when is irritating her...and mixed with that is that we are staying at home (our hospital is close to us) and are basically just watching TV and movies and getting INCREDIBLY bored by it...wife doesn't want to venture out too much as she's afraid her water will break in public and doesn't want to face that embarrassment. We realize that we should relish not doing anything because soon we will be very busy and sleepless being parents...but I think it's the anxiety and anticipation that is killing us (more her than me mind you, but still me as well).

I think I'm just excited to meet my daughter and the stubborn kid is late. ^_^

She needs to be walking! BK is also right.

Good luck!

I'll give you a bit of California wisdom on the matter, since the Cajun method doesn't apply here. Rub her belly with essential oils. Then arrange your crystals on it in a design your twin souls specify, letting the baby know you're in harmony and it's safe to come out. Sprinkle the area with crumbled kale chips. Finally put your face as close to the lower belly as you can and shout "We're ready for you on set!"
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Buffets are always dangerous, esp with mayonnaise

Northern Rail doing unannounced engineering works at my station - no trains running and I only found out when I bloody got to the station. Had to drive into Sheffield on fucking match day when my route goes past the stadium. GAH.

Asbestos FUCKING Asbestos ^_^

I'm currently doing an experiment at university about vermin in different vineyard types. Yesterday a big buliding burned down in my city. With a lot of Asbestos in the roof. And the whole smoke goes north into the vineyards I use for my experiment. (Okay, better the vineyards than a residential area)

Half of my vineayards are less than 500 metres away and now possibly contaminated.

The entertainment between the courses is also in most cases terrible.

I assume network rail? Northern rail only does the trains, not the tracks.
