I've applied for a bunch of tutoring jobs to no effect. And the problem with shopping around my resume is that is basically says I have been a substitute teacher my entire life, not too impressive.

You could also try doing some volunteer work to help build your resume, that's oftentimes just as appealing to certain employers. Plus you get to meet interesting people and make new contacts.

You could also, RLY, try going for your Master's in Education or something that's more likely to get you hired on full time at a school...but that might not be easy with your wife still going to be a doctor.

How about a non-substitute teacher killing spree? It will open up more sub opportunities that could lead to permanent contracts. Of course, since you can't afford a gun, you will have to get creative but the exercise will probably do you good.

Move to britain... now that teachers supposedly no longer have to cover for each other, there should be plenty of jobs for professional cover teachers.

Still maintain teachers have it great already with their holidays, yet their stupid unions push for more and more time off and more and more pay, which if the government objects to, makes it look like it's trying to destroy the next generation's education.

I'm a bit low. No reason for it, it's just happened. I'm kind of afraid I might be getting back into a depressive state again, even though it is just only one day. The last time it happened was about 5 years ago and I ended up pretty much confined to the house for 6 months and having to take stacks of antidepressants to function in any meaningful way. The thought terrifies me.

Hopefully it's just a blip and I'll be okay in the morning. *fingers crossed*

I was almost hit twice this evening by cars and once by a motorbike. One car ran a red light and only just missed my car. The other car just was a moron and the motorbike wasn't watching when it changed lanes.

Same thing happened to me, only the douche actually hit my car. I find people in the ACT are horrible drivers too. I feel your pain. May they all burn in hell being crushed by their own cars for their retardedness.
