I'm opening myself up to nasty replies but dammit a gum ulcer is giving me nine kinds of hell this week. I haven't had one in like 2 yrs so this one just feels aweful and why do humans constantly feel the unconscious need to bite them? It doesn't help heal and I find myself gnawing on it drawing blood... Grr

Chewing or biting that will only make it worse. If you are getting a lot of ulcers, you may have a vitamin C deficiency. Been eating any fruits lately?

Fruit could be contributing towards them (slightly). I notice that if I eat a lot of sugars in a day (compared to a normal day's intake), they spring up everywhere. Fruit isn't much fun then.

As a preventative, seems like a good idea. Get in those four fruits and six veg a day.

GMG: Unrealistic expectations and shitty deadlines.

Been asked to provide a critical briefing that is required for tomorrow at 13:00. Now this on its own isn't too bad as short scale briefings are not unusual, what is bad is that this is my first briefing and I'm on leave tomorrow so my deadline is now 17:00 TONIGHT! to top it off my manager has had the request for the briefing for 10 bloody days and is only passing it to me now.

This. ^^

I get them when I OVERINDULGE in Citrus or fruit in general.

And BK, I had one for a week last week, so you are not alone. According to my sister-in-law who is in the health industry, you can get them if your body is fighting off a virus as well. But I am pretty sure this time it was the excessive fruit I was eating (and drinking; Apple juice).

Random ankle pain popped up yesterday. Totally weird since my last game was on Mon evening, and I felt nothing wrong with it on Tue. Now it feels seriously tender, and the swim yesterday didn't help it much.

On the somewhat brighter side, the thigh/hamstring pain settled from a constant 3/10 to an occasional 1/10.

Jeez. Up your fruit intake! I try to have four servings of fruit and six of veg per day. You might find that with an erratic and low intake of nutrients / vitamin C, you're more susceptible to maladies like ulcers because medical stuff.

Trying to teach my mother how to use Google Image Search. So far she has accidentally closed the search page three times, 'lost' an image 5 times, gone to several dubious websites, and turned the entire screen white.

I am not getting her to search for anything. She is searching for images for school geography projects.

Not that bad thankfully, but its a bit of a problem stopping her from clicking on scummy ads.

Once we get the right click left click thing sorted out, things will hopefully improve. How tough can Left click to select, right click for options be to remember? Its not like she doesn't get tech. She is quite adept with a smartphone. But put a PC in front of her and its the Black Gates opening all over again

This ankle pain is getting worse. This is annoying, since I have no clue where it's coming from. Last thing I remember doing to it was twisting it on the dancefloor 2 Saturdays ago- but I've had 3 games since and it was all fine.

Now all of a sudden it decided to hurt. Might be swelling, too.

Strange thing is, it's at the front of the joint, just above top of the foot. I usually have issues inside.

Grrr. Not pleased with this.

Install uBlock Origin. I would never let my parents use a computer without an ad blocker.

This one time my dad saw a random ad for teeth whitening strips and decided that that was the best time to make a purchase and get some whiter teeth.

If you are playing games something easily could have occurred in a game without you realizing it, and the actual pain can show up a few days later.

But yeah, it sounds like you've irritated the joint in some way and it's inflamed. If you'd known when the injury had occurred heat would have been correct right away afterwards...but it's obviously been a few days, so you should only go with an ice pack now.
