Nope. Retreat and surrender would have been better

I forgot about my doctor's appointment because, ironically, I was sick.

Utterly shocking. The co-pilot apparently locked the pilot out of the cockpit and deliberately crashed the plane. Bloody heel. Must have been an absolute nightmare for the passengers.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

We've been talking of this today. No idea why/no known links to extremists etc. And they're not treating it as a terrorist incident! If it wasn't so horrible it would be quite fascinating.

If I could give this advice as the "default setting" in a relationship to BOTH parties, it would be the best advice I could give.

When arguing with my wife, we both now know (after many years of stupid arguments and learning) that backing down, realizing how silly it probably is, is always the best bet. It means swallowing ones pride, but the end result is almost always better.

Exactly. If you ask me the number one thing I have learnt after a four year relationship, its that you need to control your ego. Once you get past that, everything simplifies. I am still working on this but its not giving me as much trouble as it was initially.

From what they have revealed of the blackbox recorder, the passengers apparently didn't realise what was happening until just before the plane crashed. That's something, I guess.

Absolutely spot on. It's actually impressive how simple things become when you do so. You look back at it and go "Holy crap, was that all it took to get past that?"

I still have days where I'm being stubborn...but my wife will smile and say "Can we stop being so stupid please?" and we let go of whatever the issue is and move on. It's refreshing every single time.

Conversely, me and my fiancee rarely if ever fight. We're both a little... eh, I'm not sure of the word. Esoteric, maybe?

Car failed the MOT today. I'm having to raid my pathetic wedding savings to replace a brake pipe, and take a loan from the Bank of Dad to get some welding done on most of the passenger side chassis / body.

It turns out that my MKIV 1999 Fiesta is actually a goddamn LANCIA.

The grass is now green, growing, and needing a cut. I love golden/tan Winter lawns/wheat fields. So pretty then. My drainage ditch needs flamethrown also.
