You have to go. You might be the only person on earth to feel that passionately about Jackson Browne.

lol...possibly, and I agree, go, he may be dead soon. I don't mean that in a morbid, disrespectful way..I'm just sayin he's been around awhile. I'm contemplating taking a friend to see The Who when they hit my area. Not because I am so in love with the Who, but more because they are an ancient band with iconic songs and they may die soon too. Oh and speaking of that. CSI and all of it's offspring have nearly ruined several Who songs for me. It's like when they make commercials with songs you love..and then after 400 thirty second slots in a month you're like done listening to it ever gain.

Haha...wasn't meant as a diss! It's just rare to hear Jackson Browne name-checked as a top tier favorite. That said I agree with Grief's reasoning. As Jackson Browne himself would say: "YOLO!"

He's a legend.
And yes I agree with that reasoning too.
Today is crunch day.

Oh god, a dude I used to know pretty well is removing people from his facebook who have had any interaction at all with a ouija board at any point in their life for any reason, because he believes they've been contaminated with evil spirits and he holds them on the same level as rapists and murderers. What the shit.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Was that from your personal collection or what? I think I saw that on TV like 10 years ago. Now, I ask you, was this behavior the result of too much medication or not enough?

I feel bad for the kids. You know that they are going to be warped.

But the Misfits!
HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.

Finally had my appointment with an ENT specialist. He confirmed that my hearing is, in his words "bad, this is really bad." Seems everyone I see about my hearing is floored that I can carry on any sort of conversation without hearing aids. He also confirmed that it is most likely genetic and that nothing can be done to reverse the loss. It will be progressive, but in which direction or how quickly it will continue to deteriorate he can't say (direction meaning whether my high frequency hearing just keeps getting worse or if I will start losing the low end as well - though the former is more likely). I have to get a CT scan scheduled now, as there is a small chance that could show an anomaly that is causing the loss.

Basic forecast is that in the near to mid-term, hearing aids will become useless for me as either the level high frequency sounds need to be amplified to will surpass the pain threshold or I will develop more dead zones where I wouldn't hear sounds at any volume. At that point I will need to consider cochlear implants in both ears. Whether that is in 1 year, 5 years or 10 years remains to be seen. For now, I will be taking hearing tests every 3 months or so to see if we can determine the rate and direction in which my hearing will continue to deteriorate.

Sorry to hear this...umm..no pun intended there. I've been to ENT several times on another issue that had the possibility of being very serious, in fact, it put me in the ER at one point just from the stress reaction of what it COULD have become. Thankfully, MRI results revealed good news, but honestly....I hope you are able to keep a positive attitude throughout, and the best possible conclusion becomes the reality here.

Facebook Hijinx, gotta love it. Unfortunately it won't keep him from interacting with all those "friends" on and off FB, who are discreet enough to not bother telling him, or those sane enough to avoid using FB for such nonsensical discussions.

My 5 year old nephew had this done.
Obviously it carries risk and it was a VERY stressful time for us and for some reason the deaf purist community are dead against it, but the results were nothing short of miraculous.
I spoke to him on the phone for the first time a few weeks ago, amazing stuff.
He came and sat down next to me to listen to me playing the guitar too, something he's never done before.

I don't know if this will give you any comfort, buy my wife's cousin had been losing her hearing since childhood until it was gone as an adult. She got the implants and had a relatively easy adjustment period and after that, her life was greatly improved. I think the implants even have a way of connecting an audio player directly to listen to music, which I find fascinating. So good luck!

There's a documentary on this very subject called Sound and Fury. It might not make sense to the hearing community because it's essentially invisible and you don't necessarily think about it independently so you'd need to be introduced to it conceptually, but in fact there is such thing as Deaf Culture. And there's a legitimate fear of erasure as medical technology advances.

Here's the trailer:

And this isn't from the movie, just something I've seen (and it's worth watching regardless), but it's a sign of what might happen if there's no deaf community around:

They came with white hands and left with red hands.

I'm beyond fucking fed up and disgusted by my cat. So now her thing instead of at least pissing and shitting in front of litter box is to get up from the arm of my dads couch walk 2 feet to the middle of it and piss and shit...wtf!!! She has ruined the couch in just 4 days of doing this. We ve changed litter and done all the other guesses to no luck. She's a fat ass 14 yr old inside cat. She's either gonna be put outside or put down sadly cause she has been wreaking this house up for 8mths now and everyone is fed up with her. I just understand wtf her problem is!!!

I still think your cat could be sick. When animals act like above something is up.
