Actually, just listened to some of the album since you mentioned it. There's something about it that reminds me of the hallmark days of eighties pop. I sort of liked it fo.... for fuck's sake QT what have you done? Posted Image

Liking a good to great pop album is a good to great thing.

How do we show Loki support? She's not around anymore and it might be best to let her (and her family/friends) deal, then come back?
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

Yeah I'm giving it a few days before saying anything to Loki. She is ace but I want the people close to her IRL to be with her first.

Sorry, sorry.

But yes to the "hallmark 80's pop" comment. Very much so.

Oh god. Had a crazy travelling for work training so my brain batteries are just about flat from zipping around and lots of concentration learning a new skill. My mum and her partner have been staying since Wednesday and I can't get a moment to recharge. You know how elderly people tend to witter on and on and on and like to have things just how they are used to - can't break a routine built up over a lifetime. I can't even get into my own toilet when I need to or eat a meal at a sensible time - does the whole world suffer from night time indigestion when they get old?? Managed to pack them both off for a day trip to London so I can catch up on work and I'm supposed to be taking various online exams today but all I want is lie down!

I realise I am not the most children-friendly of people, but even so, it can't be unreasonable to expect people to keep their children under control when in a professional office (i.e. the solicitors firm where I work)?

I'm on lunch cover for our receptionist and I think they've screamed bloody murder for about half an hour straight whilst running around all over the reception area and sticking their heads into more than one meeting room before I/their mother could stop them.

My headache does not think they're cute.

Pick up said child by the ankles and use it to pummel the mother into submission.

Depends which part of the skill tree you've chosen. You might be able to use one as a shield/use shield bash if your level is high enough.

I feel that annoyance.

Especially because it not only happens at my work too (one of the sale guys repeatedly brings his son in and the kid basically screams and shouts and runs for hours disturbing everyone)...but it happens in leisure activities too.

When I was on my honeymoon cruise this past summer...we were watching one of the shows aboard the boat in their big theatre (some cirque du soleil knockoff)...and this kid (probably 6 or 7 years old) basically was sitting, shifting, moving around, crawling, running...all in the aisle, pretending to sing the songs theatrically, and was basically a HUGE nuisance for the last 45 minutes. His parents, who were obviously somewhere behind me in the audience didn't do anything. They didn't try to get him to stop disrupting the performance (at one point he was so close to the stage that one of the actors glanced round to see who was "responsible for him"...and nada), they didn't do squat. And it infuriated me to no end.

It's also not the kids fault. They are just being kids. But when the parents refuse to actually take responsibility for their kids behavior in a public space, or a professional space...that's who is responsible for the problem and who should be reprimanded.

I recall going to my dad's work as a kid...and I don't recall being allowed to run around willy nilly. My dad would give me some colouring to do, or show me neat things around the office...but I was never just allowed to be rambunctious because he couldn't be bothered....which is how I feel a lot of parents approach their own exhaustion.

It's absolutely not the kids fault at that age unless they are impaired. It's 100% how they are raised. My mom would swat me if my voice would amp overboard or I unknowingly started acting annoying. Kids don't know how annoying they can be. I did the same to my kids and they are quite well behaved.

Yep. I agree 100%. Both my mom and dad didn't let me get away with shit like that.

Kids are different, just like adults. And there are extenuating circumstances. If my little girl is tired from a long day, and gets too upset about anything, she can have what we refer to as a "meltdown" that is just like hysteria. There is no reasoning with this state of mind. Threats will not prevent it, and punishments won't deter it from re-occurring under certain circumstances. It takes parenting to teach a child self-control that simply is not present that young in every child. Sometimes it is the parents fault, others it is the child's intentional misbehavior, but there will always be the fact that kids can be annoying, and it seems that the more you want them to chill out, the wilder they get. I recommend that people learn to understand & accept kids, it is less stressful. I personally have a hard time with doing that, as I want a well-mannered miniature adult on command when it suits me, but that's my problem.

This subject will spiral outward quickly. I will finish with the comment that actually having kids will change one's perspective on this matter immensely. I do not endorse uninvolved parents, but kids are always going to act up.
HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.

At least we'll know who to eat when the world turns into the Donner Party writ large. None of this fake wishy washy dilemma nonsense you see in every movie.

I actually had to step outside and tell three boys to get off my lawn yesterday.
Now granted, the lawn was actually concrete steps, they were fucking around and likely to injure themselves and fuck their useless parents sideways if I'm going to accept responsibility, liability or whatever.
But even so, I died a little inside.

The right side of my face itches like crazy. It's gotten the the point when a fourth of my face is red and has broken skin...
I believe I may have dermatophytosis, but that doesn't make sense because how the hell would I get that? and why on my face?
