It's more laughing that the world can still possess a person who thinks the police will be punished for murdering yet another person unlawfully, in what I guess is a kinda hysterical fashion?

Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Finished Skyrim. Feel kind of listless now, like I don't know what to do with myself. Course there are some other missions I could do like thieves and assassinations and I think there weill forever be missions for the companions etc., but I just don't know if I can be bothered. What am I going to do with my days off now?

I don't understand it. yesterday I slept like 5 hours and didn't feel that sleepy, but when I sleepy for nearly 8.5 hours I'm sleepy as fuck. It's just annoying.

A friend of 15 years is on a downward spiral socially. He's always been rather rude, but in that endearing way that there's that guy who'll be cheeky or will call things what they are without any scruples. Well, last few months he's been becoming just rude, plain and simply rude, to people who did him no wrong. Once people say they've had enough he just calls them traitors and fails to see any fault with himself. He's becoming more and more alone every week. A year ago at New Years' there were like 50 people at his party, this year there were 10 of us at most. And the number is shrinking.
He's always been a bit of a... well, storyteller, and we always knew to take what he says more like fiction than reality (well, except the professional side, he's a pretty good lawyer). But lately he's started to just plain lie to people about others behind their backs. IE he's been telling people he used to date another friend of mine and his, which they weren't ever even for a day, not even close. He's also decided to tell everyone he ever meets that me and the gf won't make it, and tells different people that one of us or the other did or said something that's completely untrue as well. It's sad, pathetic even, but it's starting to get rather annoying.
Seems he'll get more "disappointing" people out of his life. Tough break.

It upsets me that the elephant was killed. The driver was clearly getting way too close to the animal .

The "approved" repairer the insurance company have sent my car to are not only missing all of their deadlines and lying about having hit them (gave me an update yesterday saying they'd sent an estimate to the insurance company, turned out six hours later they actually hadn't), but I'm also pretty sure they're inventing damage and inflating the cost of repairs.

I'm not a mechanic but a bump at around 5mph should not have caused "£900 up to now" levels of damage.

I could request to have it back and get it looked at elsewhere, but using a non-approved repairer takes time to get various estimates in, then have it authorised and what not. I just want my car back as quickly as possible.

Essentially, it would just be nice to have some confidence in the people currently responsible for my car :p

You'd be surprised. Depends on the cars involved, depends on impact point... if your car isn't the freshest fruit in the market, a bump can be the pebble that starts an avalanche. My dad got bumped into in a similar fashion a few years back, pretty much the whole car stopped working in this or that way about half an hour later, with the exception of warning lights which were recreating the epic and timeless climax of Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Then again your mechanic could be ripping you off just as well. They're often dicks.

It's an 11 plate Hyundai i10, so not old by any means. I could also be putting too much faith in the recovery driver who picked it up, as he looked round it and said it was just cosmetic damage and that in particular the wheel was absolutely fine (after driving it) - which is one of the things they're saying is damaged.

Point taken though, I could be jumping at nothing.

I was on the receiving end of a 'light tap' and the damage still ran about $1200cdn because it knocked the whole back trunk and bumper out of place. You couldn't tell to look at it until you opened the back and noticed the angle was all wrong.
Other driver (moron, was on phone) had to pay the whole thing and their car took way more damage too.

This isn't very important and it's about Jezebel so you can skip it, but what's messing with my groove is it used to actually be a pretty good topical blog when it started -- like early Jane Magazine on the web or something -- and it's devolved so much in recent years that I can barely stand it. The snark became monotonous and annoying, but who am I to judge that? But it's lately become so much the opposite of what it wanted to be, it's all about witch hunts and proving cred and all that college freshman level nonsense. And worst of all, with the Lena Dunham bounty thing as a pretty clear indicator (particularly in light of their failed attack on the Mindy Kaling mag cover a couple weeks ago), they just seem desperate and downright sleazy. If it's supposed to be an antidote to the TMZs and Perez Hilton's of the world, it's sure fooling me.

My brother died in a serious car crash back on the 3rd of this month. If that wasn't bad enough his 'c u next tuesday" of a wife, whom he was in the process of divorcing is making things harder than they already are. This woman is evil, my parents are having a hard enough time coping and she's deliberately making things as difficult as possible. I've never truly wished pain on someone but I'm getting close to losing my cool. The only plus is that they didn't have any children together. So once probate is finished she's out of the picture.
