Shops and their stupid 'seasons'.

It's freezing cold, I need some more gloves for my daughter who has lost or worn out her current ones, and what are the shops full of?

Beachwear and sunglasses.

Similarly, in August when I go to get something because I'm hot, the shops will no doubt be full of woolly jumpers and gloves.

I just don't get this, it drives me nuts.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

That's one reason I like REI, as an outfitter: they're customer owned (it's a cooperative), and they always, always stock all their gear.

Unfortunately I've never seen one outside of California.

I am in Albury-Wodonga for the course that I missed earlier in the year because I broke my finger. For the next 7 weeks. :p

And it's cold. Not Darkwatch-level absolute zero stopping-time cold of course, but cold enough for me. And it's only going to get worse. :p

I actually miss my family already. Go figure.

I asked my mother if I had the MMR vaccine or caught measles or mumps as a child and now she thinks I'm pregnant. It's not the first time she has jumped to this conclusion but at least I'm in my 30s this time.

Never even noticed aurora on the sheet, was convinced I had Oscar time e/w but it was to win as well.
didn't bet on the national last year but the 5/6 years before that I backed the winner and a place every year except.mon Mon.

Was planning an rpg round tomorrow with some friends. I asked them 2 weeks ago if everyone had time and it took two of them until now to tell me that they haven't. Posted Image

We've been getting that a bit recently, too.. We have set as a fixed date every second Saturday and already, after two months, someone or other only only bothers to tell us he's got no time like five minutes before we start ^_^ *sigh*

I'm in a position, because of my own asshatery and the current job market, not able to find one summer job. I hate being poor. I hate not be able to apply for jobs because I can't drive (mind you it's hopefully going to change in the next week or two). Why can't a job just fall out of the sky and land in my lap like it seems to do for everyone else...and now complaining is done and time to start looking again.

Because you're not using your friends and family like you should? Most jobs are got through contact network, not through blindly applying at postings. I think I heard that for regular jobs, about 70-80% employ friends or other connections in Norway. Imagine it would be even more for summer jobs.

Networking is paramount these days to finding work. Within the U.S. it's something like 80% of jobs are found through networking, 5% through blind resumes/applications and a couple other percentages that I can't remember off the top of my head. I just know that the networking % really jumped out to me at a seminar i just recently went through. Network network network. I hope things end up looking up for you Stud.
