I'd rather not have a review based on the reviewer (my boss and his boss) deciding I'm a stuck up asshole. Seems like it would make them want to give me a smaller raise and worse review.

Loud fucking neighbors.
Now, I don't expect to never hear my neighbors. It's a two-story apartment building and we're on the first floor, so naturally I expect to hear them from time to time. But with these fuckers, it's not from time to time. Every single time they come home, I know it. Why? Because it's always accompanied by loud crashing noises every few minutes and them stomping around on the floor like they're afraid gravity is going to cease to exist if they don't get as firm of footing as possible.
But today, for the fourth or fifth time since I started living here a little less than two months ago, they woke me and my kid up before six in the morning. Since then, it's been constant stomping around and crashing noises. I've been counting and the longest they've stayed quiet is just over 20 seconds. This has been going on for an hour now and it's set my blood on fire. I already talked to the landlord about this problem, but he really doesn't give a shit (which isn't surprising considering these guys are construction workers and a group of at least 6 of them rents at least 2 apartments here). I'm probably going to write them a letter to tell them in the nicest terms possible to shut the fuck up, but seriously if this shit does not stop I'm going to start beating the hell out of my ceiling before I go to bed around midnight or one every day just to let them know how much I love them.

Sooooo, what you're saying, is that you have been living with these people stomping around above you for a little under two months, including a couple of before-time-starts disturbances, to the point where you've gotten really pissed off and have talked to the landlord, and never, in all this time, have you tried...talking to the people themselves? >.>

I tried talking to them once when we made them come clean off our patio (somehow they dumped about a five pound bag of soil through the cracks). The guy who came down to clean up just laughed.

Only a bit of the ultra-violent will do, I fear - upstairs neighbors are an affliction
I just caught myself stalking about the office, high on stress and 3 rapid cups of coffee, walking like Wolverine about to bring out the claws. I need to break something and scream at people. I know it would make me feel a little better. This is the 3rd Monday this week!!!

HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.

Turns out the hit & run driver was just trying to hurt people. No known motive. 5 children still in hospital. Really sucks
I know they have arrested him but the justice system in the UK is such he will probably only do a few years in jail. Not enough for scum like that...

Fucking Dramas. Internet-based variety. HOW HARD IS IT TO BE NICE TO EACH OTHER?!??! (Not about anyone here, just another site I frequent/admin on)
And my MOTHERFUCKING LAPTOP KEYBOARD. STOP TREATING BACKSPACE AS A "GO BACK A PAGE" KEY. (This is actually more a case of the trackpad jumping and moving the focus out of the box I'm typing in, but still...) SO. FUCKING. ANNOYING.

I had the same thing so I disabled the trackpad, I use a mouse anyway.
Funny thing is that my laptop keyboard doesn't always register when I hit the g. It does register when I hit it with my right finger, but hardly when I hit it with my left finger (I'm probably one of the few who still only types with two fingers instead of ten)
What really is messing with my groove is that the graphic card of my desktop pc broke down.
It does run fine with the old original graphics card I put back in to test, so it's not the pc.
But I won't be able to do any serious gaming on high settings with the old graphics card.
Going to the shop on Friday, so I'll see what happens.
It's still well within the guarantee period, the guy from the shop which I talked with on the phone told me the same.

You got enough power supply to power the new card? If it's newer and more powerful, it probably takes a bit more juice. Unless you were future-proofed when you purchased the desktop, my guess is your PSU isn't big enough to support the new card. Though it may be something more serious, like the card itself failing, it pays to rule out the obvious possibilities where you can. Hope you get it working, though.
And yeah, I would use a mouse, but for some reason I've become attached to track-pads now. It allows me to go from clicking to typing just that bit faster, you see...XD

It's a 700 watt psu and it has run fine for almost 2 years with the graphics card that has given up now.
In the beginning I started out with a 550 watt psu while a 500 watt psu was recommended for my setup, but within a few days the original graphics card blew up a rail of the psu when I decided to finally try my setup with a game.
So I got it replaced at the shop with the 700 watt and I would be future proof unless I would run an sli setup.

I realise it is something highly publicised and there are few reasons that she should garner more attention than other teen suicides, but this has definitely messed with my groove:
Maybe it is due to her trying to reach out publicly beforehand. Maybe it's the combination of suicide due to bullying and the pedophile stalker. Maybe it is due to her living near me. Maybe it's even due to misplaced feelings of guilt for not being there when Reena Virk was beaten to death by girls her age, and a few years younger than me, a few blocks from where I lived. Maybe it's because we rarely see the statistics humanised and when we do we realise how sad and depressing some things are.
I picked on a few kids myself when I was in school and I'd like to think that they are all fully functioning adults now, but what do I know?
I've been thinking about this almost non-stop since I first saw her video, and I've decided that I'm going to become a volunteer to try help kids who are in bad situations. Big Brothers is the first that comes to mind, but if anyone has suggestions/experiences/etc I would love to hear them.
Edit: looknig back I see it was referenced before, but compared to most of the stuff that is in this thread it deserves at least two posts.
