Depending on what happens tonight, we may have to put my little sister's horse down.

I just spent the last 40 minutes on the phone with my little sister while the vet put down her horse. Her little heart was breaking so bad and it took everything I had not to just break down and cry on the phone with her. I swear that was one of the hardest phone calls I've ever had. The moment she was told Cammy was gone she just fell a part. After I hung the phone up I cried like a baby. It was such bloody torture listening to it and I cried like a baby afterwards. I'm still sobbing.

I'm so sorry to hear that, Loki! :) I can only imagine how hard this has been for the both of you...and massive respect for holding it all back to be there for your little sister; you're awesome. :)

I'm fine. But it's pretty well fucked, and I'm gonna have to find a way to pay for it.

First, if you can, fix whatever led to the accident in the first place. That's the best place to start. It'll keep you alive longer and prevent future such incidents.

Then worry about fixing the money part.

Glad you are alright, Stormy.

Last night and today have been very sad. I'm thoroughly exhausted. Time to get some sleep. I'm predicting I'll wake up sometime tomorrow.

Terrible news about your sister's horse, Loki :) Hope she's holding up.

Got no work done today and my assignment is due Wednesday. Cram-a-licious.

Broke up with my gf today. Also, been too busy for the forum lately.

My first day off in a week and the internet is back up and running in the house so I can actually start getting gifts for my gf, who got me thoughtful gifts on my birthday.

Ofcourse no internet access for a while + first day off in a while = looking at funny pictures on the internet for the last (checks time) SIX MOTHERFUCKING HOURS.

Further to my last post I have been to the doctors twice re my ankle & my boss has told me to stay off work (obviously I am on my feet all the time with my job). So now my excellent sick record is screwed up & the only thing I know is that I have weak feet & this might be a recurring problem... *sigh*

At least the weather has been nice while I'm off!

Get a Segway.

Or more seriously, get to a true physiotherapist (one who is actually athletic, understands the nature of demanding sports/jobs) and work on your ankles/legs. There could be a muscular imbalance somewhere in your posterior chain that's manifesting itself in messed up legs/feet. I'm talking more than just rehab - this is "prehab", or work put in to make sure you don't have the problems you're having.

This. Unless you just twisted your ankle its one thing. Otherwise, fixing your ankle without fixing the cause will just prolong this on and on and on.

Turns out I have GOUT. For crying out loud, I'm 27 not 70! Apparently something has caused uric acid to build up in my ankle which is what gout is. Have been reading up on it and apparently people (including those my age) can have a gout attack for no real reason except that it happens, and I am on the right drugs - apparently naproxen and resting up do the work. It's annoying being off work, and for some reason slightly embarrassing. Makes me seem old...

A friend of mine got Gout at 26. His doctor told him it was his diet, so he cut out the sugary sweets and fizzy drinks and it worked wonders.
Apparently, a certain type of sugar common in fizzy drinks like Pepsi and Coca-Cola can cause Gout.
What I was told anyway.
Good luck.

Yeah I don't really drink fizzy drinks all that much but this past week all I have been on is water with the occasional cup of tea. Also cut right down on marmite (sob!) and cheese (bigger sob!). Apparently the uric acid builds up in the kidney so loads of water is best to pass them. Being peeing like a banshee but apparently it works! :)

As an alternative for a low low price i can offer you some genetically re-engineered tapeworms that will take up residence in your kidneys and devour the uric acid for you so you can eat whatever you want.

Are these the same product line of worms that we sold to Amy Winehouse to 'detox'?

Oh jeez, you're at risk of kidney stones? Those will teach you to keep your diet on the straight and narrow, alright. Good luck with all this.

Those were leeches modified for operating subdermally to filter narcotic and alcohol residue at the cellular level. It's a totally different thing and for the record they would have worked if she hadn't gotten into that cheddar flavoured peyote jerky.
