But I feel your pain - I usually blow off events like that if it's going to necessitate either a 4 hour wait or sneaking in. Too much time and effort, I have shit to do.
I went (on the notion that you only live once) and stood outside in the blustery cold for 3 1/2 hours. Was it worth it?...ehhhhhhh...sort of. I'm happy to have my copy of the first book signed, but I didn't get to say anything to the man himself since there was 1000 people for him to get through and the staff were basically ushering people past him as he signed. It was kind of a waste if I REALLY think about it...but then when will he come back to Toronto?
So I'm middling content about the whole experience.
What's pissing me off is that the HBO online store is charging $22 for shipping to Canada on two t-shirts. Meanwhile it's $4 to go inside the US to just across the lake from me...and I know for a fact that duties for heavier items are around $3-4 as they cross the border...so HBO is fucking Canadians in the ass for $14. Nice. Fuck you HBO. Fuck you hard.
