I went (on the notion that you only live once) and stood outside in the blustery cold for 3 1/2 hours. Was it worth it?...ehhhhhhh...sort of. I'm happy to have my copy of the first book signed, but I didn't get to say anything to the man himself since there was 1000 people for him to get through and the staff were basically ushering people past him as he signed. It was kind of a waste if I REALLY think about it...but then when will he come back to Toronto?

So I'm middling content about the whole experience.


What's pissing me off is that the HBO online store is charging $22 for shipping to Canada on two t-shirts. Meanwhile it's $4 to go inside the US to just across the lake from me...and I know for a fact that duties for heavier items are around $3-4 as they cross the border...so HBO is fucking Canadians in the ass for $14. Nice. Fuck you HBO. Fuck you hard.

The bus full of 11-12 year old Belgian schoolkids that crashed in Switzerland, killing 28 people - 22 of which were children. Another 24 kids were seriously injured.

I know cars crash all the time, but it's extra haunting when it's small children that get hurt.

A rather minor annoyance, but.. I've been hunting for a song I keep hearing on an online radio channel, and just now I heard it again.. and the thingy that usually displays artist and title wasn't working.. and when it started working again and I tried to look at the last few songs they played it was showing the wrong artist/title.. grr.. One day, I shall get to know you, song.. :(

Yeah, tried it several times.. There's the additional difficulty of it being a russian song and one of the kind that flows so nicely you can't remember the exact words when it's finished.. Sneaky song.. But I've got it now.. Basically minutes after posting here it jumped me on youtube.

I think I should post more often in this thread.. The last time I posted about the internet not working at home it started working again within half an hour of me posting :(

This is gonna sound stupid and juvenile, but I keep thinking more and more about sex lately. Seriously. Every time I so much as look at a pretty girl, I start picturing in my head. Either that or remembering my previous relationship and what was involved there. I'm worried it'll prevent me from moving on to meaningful relationships. It's not like I express it outwardly but it's never been this prevalent...very uneasy about all this.

We all do that. Especially when you are single. Just make sure to not miss the "nudity buffer" (5 minutes before you have fully mapped out what a stranger looks like naked), if you plan to pick one up. For if you ever DO pick up one of these women but have missed the buffer...that woman will be naked in your head, performing deviant sex acts the likes of which would make the world's top porn stars go white and have to steady themselves on the furniture...and that wil make it more difficult to concentrate on playing it cool when you pick her up.

@ AIJ: aren't you 18 or so?
If so, it sounds like you're a bit late into certain parts of puberty. Anyhow, it is not weird. Neither is it exactly productive when trying to get anywhere with a girl because you are either going to be overeager to get into her panties or start doubting yourself, your motives and/or your words so much that you become very hesitant to approach a girl.
When you find that all you care about is sex and not the people you're having sex with, regardless of the person in question, question yourself again. But there's a serious difference between being slightly hormonal imbalanced on account of age, body alteration (not to mention being away from home and in a new environment with like minded people) and being addicted to sex and/or emotionally and physically exploiting people to get your fix.

Anyhow, women have cravings as well and they aren't looking for mr. Right all the time, mr. Right Now also has a place in their lives. If you are there and then at that time, no reason why you can't get it on like storm.

Wah, I'd been secretly gloating over how I'm the only one on the building project not having sleepless nights due to the stress of the deadline. I got some bad news that throws a massive spanner in the works today and I think it sent me over the edge. I've now got a monumental stress headache and I went 2 stops passed the one I wanted on the tube as I was in some kind of daze.

The fucking builders and everyone have been telling me that the dimensions of my new equipment costing £1000s will be ok to fit into the new labs. If it didn't fit in the lift, they said the 2 staircases would do the job. Being builders, I figured they would have a better gut instinct about this than me so I trusted them. Just had a site survey done by the delivery team and it won't fit in at all.....unless we get a crane and take a load of windows and brickwork out of my brand spanking new labs. Arse! Expensive! Arse! Supposed to have the new place up and running without a break in product development by 2nd April. I'm going to die before then!

I'm a scientist, not a builder! Get me out of here!!!!!
