What are teh symptoms? I haven't run into any probs.
How did they even get to malazanworld.com we shut that forum down...
it's possible a router somewhere around the place lost track of its DNS or hadn't updated - however that's only a slim chance since this DNS has been hosted here for ages...
Hard to say without being able to repro.

I was getting a 'could not find server' error. Just a minor thing, I think.
I believe the 'old' forum people were talking on was the Invisionfree forum we went to when malazanworld.com went down? I certainly can't get back to malazanworld.com.

I have an address in my favourites menu that gets me onto the old site... so I use the one in the dropdown toolbar, which brings me here. Maybe the others are using old addresses. Or something. Wondered where they were...
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

To correct the dog(Bad dog *hits him on the nose with a rolled up news paper*)
Bent meant(that sounds like a very bad candy) the temp forum.
Purgatory was the old forum when it was back up and running with none of the old posts in it.

Has anyone noticed that if you sign on without logging in, and click Forums you only get the Games forum? Everything else is gone, so you can't check new threads without logging in. Why is it doing that?

Hmm....OK. The reason it is doing that, is I had to change the global permissions for viewing threads, so that the Game Alts group would be unable to post in the other threads.
I think I can allow everyone to view the other threads though, and this should fix the problem.

Silencer
Do not make many global permission groups.
You can base every group on members. Then when you setup the forum you can choose pass protect.
Below that is 'groups that ignore pass' set that group and sup Mods + Admins
You don't even have to tell anyone the pass. It works the same.
Permissions just make things confusing.
In theory you only need 3 permission sets.

That's what I did, to start.
Makes things cluttered out front here, though.
Easier to make it all invisible. I don't anticipate the same number of groups as we have on MC, but if we do, I'll reshuffle.
Things like the Encyclopedia doesn't need it's own permission set, for example.
Bah. It's all fixed now.
