Well Osserc kinda hinted that Elder Gods were MD's first children, so them being in that box might simply be because they are connected to MD ?

The Imass in MT doesn't mention Mael in his list which ofcourse might not mean anything. (Edit: should press F5 more often Posted Image
Anyway what I really wonder is what did the pure blood dragons do to unite tiste eleint & co against them ?

I am quite ok with that, but if you look at the Family Tree you will see Elient listed as an individual right above Mother Dark.

I think the reference in the tree is to the dragons as whole, the race.

Hi guys,

Although I have read all the books and been monitoring this website for ages, this is my 1st post. When I read topics in the different forums, it looks like there is a consensus that Rake is somehow going to die. I do not know if it is because of that prophecy that goes something like - Knight strides his own doomed path or the one that says he is soon to cross swords with his own vengeance (I have read Night of Knives and believe me, Traveller is definitely Dassem and he took the sword vengeance from Andarist in HOC so Rake and Dassem are going to fight it out for sure). This stuff is really freaking me out - If Rake dies, that is it - finito - things will never be the same. I personally think Rake is Eriksons secret favourite.

So what do you guys think? Is rake going to meet his end and if so how?

@ Kimpo: In a way you are right, but K'rul is not Draconean, and thus I don't believe he can a part of that Hold.

S Ruin, please don't post House of Chains spoilers in the Memories of Ice forum.

If you have to, write the spoiler in blue text.

O_0 Where does it say that he'll cross swords with his own vengeance? I never spotted that.

Minor Midnight Tides Spoilers
I think it's in Feather Witch's prophecy in MT. They refer to Rake as the knight in the Hold of Dragons.

Perhaps it was the creation of the Otataral Dragon. The Eleint loosed the blood in their veins to spawn a child of unbelievable terror?

As to writhes upon a tree... i still think that is likely that the writhes upon a tree is most likely to refer to someone captured by an azath house, so a dragon we haven't yet met, or either silchas or sheltatha

@Hetan, wasn't the child essential in taking Scandabari down ? Cause he is listed among those who closed the gate/road/whatever. I don't see how it would work out. Posted Image

And since I already derailed this thread I'll throw in another question (that has, in all likelihood, been debated earlier although I cant remember.) So, what do the Eleint want to avenge ?

They are in that boxed area above, and I believe there is some essential difference.

We know that K'rul is draconic from the list in Midnight Tides.

And what is the difference between K'rul & Mael's blood vs Tiam's blood? If they are all 'Original' Draconean Elder Gods, why is it that everyone just talks about driking Tiam's blood? I can't imagine Mael becoming draconean by driking from Tiam's blood. And the prophecy called them Children of Mother Tiam.

Mael is not listed as draconic in MT - but it may be an incomplete list.

PS >>> I think we can guess who the Consort (in my opinion the Otataral Dragon) is, he must be Eleint (the individual listed right above Mother Dark in the Draconean family-tree).

Eleint is the word for Dragon
Olar is the Imass word for dragon

Oh and yeah list is incomplete. Sister of Cold Nights isn't mentioned in there either.

And another thing. Draconean doesn't mean Dragon. Draconean probably just means you have the blood of dragons. The list does say, Pure Blood's and Mixed Bloods.

It's been suggested more than once in the books that Rake, QoD, Ossric, Brood et al are past their prime and just trying to find a reason to exist. That some or all may die isn't unthinkable. That it happens at the hands of humans, ie, Rake v. Traveller/Dassem, is actually quite logical.

Also, don't forget, time has passed between MT and the other books, yet apparently Silchas has not reappeared that we know of.

- Abyss, wonders if Kruppe is Silchas in disguise. Or not.

Path Shaper should be K'rul, who houses the warrens in his body, his blood is what sorcerers swim through when traversing the warrens Posted Image

Yes, there was that remark from Andarist about not waking someone up.
He needn't have worried obviously because K & D were scampering around on the island without too much problem...

I still say that Anomander had Scabby's soul imprisoned in/under Drift Avalii, set some Andii to guard both him and the Throne and went about his business Posted Image

Depending on when (if!) he dies it may not have that big repercussions on the Andii - remember that his brother Silchas Ruin is free now as well. Ruin could probably step in in his brother's place.
