Reading all about tea-staining paper and different ways of doing it - thinking of incorporating this into my maps in future, because it's the hand shading I don't enjoy so much when it's for a full map. If I could find a colour/depth I'm happy with, I can just get on with the fun ink side of map making - woo!

My roof-falling mate's brother (who is also one of my mates, incidentally), posted that the silly sausage is doing better. Still under sedation for now and still healing from all the injuries he sustained. They're hoping to wake him up soon - hoping that he's cogent considering the local news report said 'life changing head injury' which to me (mother dearest is an ex CCU/ICU nurse) says brain damage of some form. Hopefully it'd just be something fixable like a jaw fracture or something that won't impact too badly like one eye being gone (because if you still got one then you can see... no coming back from severe brain damage).
Also realised I'm 90% done with my novel. I have maybe eight chapters to finish for a total of 25-50 pages. If I apply myself I can finish it in two months or so. From there, compile the manuscript, edit for continuity and then the first drafts can go out to the initial proofreaders.

Thought you already lit your stump on fire earlier with that pain cream?
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Walked past a diner while I was out shopping. There was this frail, wizened old guy sitting outside the diner reading a book. Walking apparatus, a cane, just a very old looking guy. I wouldn't really have thought any more of it but I noticed how wrapped up he looked in the book he was reading. His eyes were wide open, book held high as he was clearly gripped by what ever events he was reading about.
The book? He was half way through a very tattered copy of Gardens of the Moon.
It made me happy.

Ends in sex.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Had basically arranged a new job before Christmas only to find out there was a possible snag in terms of my eligibility. Had to wait until today for government offices to reopen, and clarify that I am indeed eligible. So now I just have to wait til tomorrow when the potential new boss gets back from his holidays, and hopefully it'll be all a go (and i'll be back in the land of employment doing video work again)
Fingers crossed.

Tooth issue turns out not to be a tooth issue at all, and was a "gum abscess" that formed due to the gum coming unattached from the very back of a top wisdom tooth. Not something I could have avoided apparently (wisdom's grow in so wonky that gum issues are bound to occur). She cleaned it and we are going to see if the gum tightens up...if not I'll have the wisdom out at that point.
VERY glad it's not a failed root canal!
