A couple of months, I returned to the board with a post about my depression in the Groove thread.

Well, today I can say that I've a positive outlook on life again, for the first time in years. I still have a long way to go, a lot of things to work on, a lot of stuff to fix, but I'm actually working on my career again and I'm enjoying it. I decided to join an advanced class lectured by my boss to get back into things and I'm actually enjoying it and handing in assignments. That last thing is a pretty big deal for me, as stopped doing that in the past because things were never up to my standards, so why hand them in? Now, I just hand them in and hope for the best. (Turns out they're fine, I've only received perfect markings so far.)

I have more confidence in my own teaching as well and started enjoying that again. As teaching is a pretty big part of my week, that's very significant for me.

Also, I've basically been offered a job in a the future, more or less the result of me showing progress again, so there's that as well.

Still, there are many moments that I can't see that. So, there's still a lot to work on. Nonetheless, today is a good day and there have been plenty of those in the last couple of weeks. That's progress.

Well done man, glad to hear you're doing better. It's a long term deal, but hold onto those wins and keep going!

Nice to see you're feeling (somewhat) better. Depression is a tricky beast, but you seem to be moving in the right direction. Keep
active, and acknowledge (& enjoy) the satisfaction of completing those assignments, or any other short terms goals you have. The bigger stuff will fall into line.

As a long term sufferer of depression myself, this post has made me very happy to see someone else turn the corner.

I need to check if Argos has got any hoverboards in.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Gamma 3.0 (local gaming centre event) is coming up on Saturday. Off work next week. And not long until Fallout 4.

Better still, Saturday is what we call in Tarn 'feyt club'. Hopefully the Neo Geo rig will be back and it's dominance time.

Well, obviously that version of the future was altered in some way and never came to pass.

I was reading a few Terry Goodkind reviews on Amazon and it pretty much made my whole day if not my next couple of days. It feels so good to laugh that hard.

I went to Game on 2.0 ,which sounds numerically inferior to your local games event, but is supposedly (I'm struggling to believe) the worlds largest collection of playable computer games from the last 60 years.
It was fun, but I didn't get to play on much, my son (who's idea it was) kept wanting to see Mario through the ages, which kind of limited my options. Plus he's only 7 so a lot the games were well over his head.
I ended up spending most my time on the Amiga 500+ that was running Lemmings.
Scattered around the display were other Amiga titles, including The Secret of Monkey Island, I was dying for a go. But it's hardly a 5 minute here and there game. Haha.
Also, things look very dated when you have a direct comparison about a foot away.

The local centre is opening soon. 6v6 lan for shooters... I mostly go for retro and fighters though. Hell, my main is my av now. Fight Club is Saturday, and that's my main calling for it. I'm nearly unstoppable. Fuahahahahaha.

Maybe he should join the rule breaking club instead. Their first rule is that you have to break their first rule.

Fiddler the cat is living up to his namesake again. I bought some slate table mats and coasters and all he's done since he figured out they were there is try to eat them (has resulted in some brilliant feline facial expressions of disgust) and move them about. They're a bit heavier than he was anticipating mind.... This cat. Seriously. Posted Image
