Works Christmas do on Friday. I imagine it will be messy. And people will be squatted. As is almost always the case...

Surgery booked, and work have given me two months off and will hold the job for me (which is amazing considering that I'm only on a temporary maternity cover until July) - genuinely overwhelmed by how great they're being :crybaby:

A friend of mine is moving away, and can't lug his huge book collection with him. So I end up with some of them, and turns out I get a bunch of Warhammer 40K Ciaphas Cain books, Guy Gavriel Kay, and I think Mark Lawrence's first two books. Did you just proposition me? I'm flattered but not into southerners (except those south of the equator!)

1) My crate of DBC Chesil pilsner turned up (six bottles, get in).

2) Picked up a couple of new albums with some birthday dollars.

3) Ever heard of Oblivionized? If you have, I have rep for you. Two shirts that Torture Music printed for them turned up. Brootle.

"Copying and pasting in Inkscape creates pixellated images instead of copying the vector objects Starting with XQuartz 2.3.2, X11 has some functionality to exchange the content of the clipboard with OS X. But it currently does not know how to deal with vector images so it just captures the screen, i.e. creates a bitmap copy, and then pastes that. You need to deactivate this functionality in X11 preferences > Pasteboard: uncheck "Update Pasteboard when CLIPBOARD changes". However, this will also prevent copying text from any X11 application to Mac OS X ones. It will not prevent copying text from OS X to X11."

They finally fixed this*. Which means I can now create an individual file for each game piece!!! No more huge file containing everything needed for all species, discoveries, ship tiles, etc. A file can be created from scratch using only those needed for that game.

happy dance for days!

*Meaning I finally found out they fixed this. *shrug*

Solution found: let the referring counsel know that said assistant is fucking up the case. And their fee.

I got to listen on speaker phone while not one but two lawyers got their asses handed to them. Pure bliss. She did it Socratic style with all questions; let them chew themselves out with the answers.

Full diplomatic relations re-opened between the US and Cuba.

It only took them half a century.

Surgery was moved forwards due to a cancellation, went as well as possible and I'm going home today! :-D

Happy to say Midnight Tides got me through a long sleepless night of bed-next-door being a champion snorer and bed-opposite talking to herself and wandering about confused for half the night!
